It should be a mix of exploration, puzzle-solving, side quests, and combat as you restore each kingdom from the creeping influence of Dark Matter being, I'm thinking the last vestiges of Dark Star's power taken by an evil human sorcerer and his team, determined to flatten the world into uniformity under their control. A lot of focus should go into world building so everywhere is just fun to explore and sightsee in. I would also want it to have a soulful hand-painted UI since I'm sick of the minimalist ones. I don't know what I'd call it, probably just Adeleine's Adventure. I like "Much Ado About Ado" but I know that's a retarded name. I'd want it to have online sharing, and when you save the first kingdom you should get a big empty plot of land to fill it with whatever you want. Maybe everything made by the player would have a painterly filter over it so you can determine things from the world from things made by Adeleine, but I'm not sure, it might be better if they're indistinguishable.

Someone here talked about having the chance of falling out of it like in the games and I kinda love that idea. So in the city, if you hit something too fast, you'd get launched out of it. In the original game, most vehicles got roughly a 20% speed boost going downhill (the Shadow Star strangely got a speed DECREASE when going downhill and a speed boost going uphill). The cart had a 100% speed boost going downhill. Then I tied the handling to it's max speed. It was pretty easy. I doubt they'd do Void again for now given they've gone out of their way to show Void's core hanging out with the Mages and Hyness in a promo piece very much implied to be set after the post-game. There's a lot of potential there, the fact it looks so similar to the Jamba Heart is incredibly interesting. Maybe we could see a Void splinter being made of another Matter as opposed to Dark Matter/0/0^2 being... well, Dark Matter? A whole lotta possibilities really.

Got decor saving working for Rtdl DX, it does it a bit differently than Star Allies and has tiles for the Background Layer, MidGround layer, and Foreground Layer. Just need to add in adding objects and then technically the rtdl DX support is baseline complete.
