Also learn buried caches, when I scav on streets no one bothers to check them and I've found some armor with IV level plates. pic rel is the stashes I check every time on streets, they are pretty easy to remember since they are close to memorable places and they are near places you are gonna pass by anyways. Also klimov is worth checking out since there are like 4-5 dead scav bodies which have a chance for armor/vests/guns.

Lookup what can you make with your hideout level and just craft that (alternate 2 different crafts in each module to maximize crafting experience). If you want good ammo just go pmc to reserve, good 545 is literally everywhere, even in places no one goes to (black/white pawn).

Then you've got the chalets being simultaneously both too open and too complex, which is like the same problem in a smaller form factor.The thing about both of these problems is they require a total map rework. As in, the entire thing has to be scrapped completely and redesigned literally from the ground up to be fixed. You CANNOT partial rework or add anything reasonable to it to fix any of this. There are immense dead sections of the map that cannot be fixed and the entire flow of the map cannot be fixed without huge, fundamental changes that make it a new map. I still level a lot of these same criticisms at Snoreline, but - and I can't believe there's any defence for snoreline but here we are - it's not as blatantly horrible there and the map flows from BOTH sides to a particular point, which still puts certain people in an advantageous position but that's always going to be true to some extent with Tarkov's shit spawn system.

Watched a marathon vid, don't know why people think it's in the same category as tarkov. It's def more like apex or even fortnite. Guaranteed it's going to have squad matchmaking because the TTK will be too high to make playing as a solo vs squads viable at all. Tarkov is kind of unique in that TTK is so low that one guy can take down a trio before they even know where he's shooting from. Instead of that the devs will for sure make it so matchmaking puts you up against teams of equal size, or solo-only lobbies. That alone speaks to how different the philosophy of the game is, not in a bad way but it's just very very different.

Bolt action leveling in arena is....a slog. The new mosin ammo is funny though, def gets one-shots a lot of the time. But the desync is so bad that I'll pop out and peg someone but it just does nothing, and I'm stuck chambering another round while the other guy blasts me

Especially on AKs, you can run drum mags and maintain good ergo with very good recoil because the muzzle attachments can still give over -10% recoil. You already mentioned the lantac and yeah that's another obvious loud winner, can use it on 7.62 AKs as well to maintain good ergo with drums.
