basically high armor lets Riot better define who gets to have meaningful right clicks. if Armor was as low as MR then a Ahri or LeBlanc could just wallop you and the game would feel like Dota (not sure how many people play Dota still but attribute growth makes all heroes right click hurt so long as they build class-items, Imagine dying to a Karthus in 10 right clicks basically). High armor means this damage is negligible and said champions have to more lean into their abilities or style of items to deal damage.so Like when Fighting Ahri you dont have to worry about her right clicks, just her spells. I think its a fine system. keeps things kinda simplified. if Riot decides that a AP mage is supposed to have hard hitting attacks then they just give them Spellblade (Morde and Diana for instance.
