Ahab is a super fun villain and I liked how Ishmael gradually losing her shit over the course of the canto ended up being narratively mapped onto Ahab’s identical obsession with the Whale as emblematic as all evil in the world. I enjoyed Kromer and Dongrang a lot too, but Ahab definitely felt like a step above them. The conclusion was a little rushed, I think - Ishmael shifts pretty quickly away from her obsession and there’s not that much resolution about her relationship with Queequeg, she just sort of disappears and Ishmael doesn’t really mourn her in any significant way. But I still had a good time. Thanks for reading my blog.

It all sort of circled home for me in that last cutscene of Ishmael joining the Pequod initially and her first meeting with Ahab - both of them are looking to fulfill a very human need for companionship and on some level glory, and watching how this all falls apart was great.

The sephirot don't have much of their backstories, likes, hobbies, etc that would flesh them out explored outside of what's in the artbook so they feel more like mouthpieces for the themes of LC/LoR rather than full people. I don't really have an issue with that though because Lobcorp and LoR were focused on the realizations of Ayin, Angela, and Roland (and the player).The sinners are the core of Limbus so naturally they will receive more focus than each individual sephirah. They have more of their minutae, their pasts, and their quirks explored than the sephirah do. Compare Malkuth (hints she may have come from T corp ONCE, though it could have been a metaphor) to literally any sinner and you can see the difference.Not that I think the sephirot are bad characters, they're not, but they just aren't as fleshed out as the sinners right now.
