I went into it completely blind so I was kinda waiting till I get a decent idea on where the story's headed to state any opinion on it but I don't think im gonna get there anytime soon even though im nearly halfway(?) into the game. Or rather, it's more a charage than a plotge so it doesn't have any clear direction I expected.Seems it'll really just focus on the title screen friend duo for the most part while developing the entire group's relations. The sci-fi part's enjoyable so far even if it's not much and seems to be heading places whatwith the white cat and that twintails girl so it shouldn't be disappointing on that point either.Its surprisingly competent writing-wise as a whole anyway - even though ti's mostly SoL it doesn't have meaningless scenes. It's always doing some chara development or pushing the plot forward keeping a lighthearted manner to contrast with the fights getting serious and gore'y at times. Plenty of foreshadowing thrown around and the girls relations and the world feel pretty natural/realistic with how information travels and the friend groups operate. It isn't afraid to delve into some pretty dark shit happening so thats another plusReally surprised by the gameplay too - used to dogshit grind, cheesing or walk in the park difficulties but this one's legit fun. It doesn't punish you for units dying so no need to savescum, it's hard enough to not be able to play braindead but not so hard that you'll be stuck redoing maps. For once a game where the def+ skills feel useful too since it's easy to get your units focused down in the enemy turn (great idea to have attacking unit deal more and take less dmg on counter btw) - takes like 2-3 attacks and the unit amounts get pretty huge.As for the translation you could probably nitpick some wordings but it does a really good job with the jokes, tone and getting the girls speech quirks/energy across - though its impossible to really compare without script diving but it seems trustworthy.
