The thing is, a lot of the lower level pre-void erosion content involves large groups of mobs (such as 400%).This lower level content is where most people farm cores, weapons, and so on.Ines and other AoE focused descendants made this content easier. But Ines isn't that great at other content.Anyhow, a select number of people had been vocal about Ines dominating the game. To the point where they saw no other descendant besides Ines everywhere. I'm skeptical about this, since I ran a lot of Void intercepts and rarely got Ines in my parties, I might get one grinding for set gear or mods, but I was usually the only Ines.Ines got hit with an outfit change that sort of censored her, this was after many people purchased her, this already put Ines lovers on edge. The Devs restored her to her original appearance.And then in the last update, in response to the vocal minority, the devs nerfed Ines really really hard. They improved some of the other Descendants, but did not nerf Serena.So people have gotten the impression that the Devs are releasing over-powered "broken" Descendants, get people hyped about them, purchasing them, buying outfits for them, only to turn around and hit them with a massive nerf hammer, despite the developer previously promising they wouldn't nerf anything.Note: A lot of developers, especially F2P Gacha and grinder RPGs are notorious for doing this, so this assumption is not all that far fetched.
The problem is, it seems most folks here think the current content (i.e. the monsters and places we're fighting) is all this game will offer. They don't think or believe that in the future the Devs may add new areas, new content that can challenge all Descendants.Myself and others suggested that all Descendants be brought up to the power level of Ines/Serena in their respective specialties. Even if they make all current content trivial. After this the Devs should release content that challenges all Descendants. This would have avoided this whole debacle.Part of the problem is that the Developer doesn't know if they want this to be a looter shooter with fast paced "Action RPG" gameplay, or a slow methodical party-based tactical shooter, where fights are much slower and require some planning and much more precise skill.Now the issue the game is facing, is the massive grind and RNG element requiring wading through hundreds/thousands of monsters in hopes of getting resources or cores in the right combination.If they nerf descendants that make the resource/core/component grind slower, you end up with the negative backlash they are experiencing.Path of Exiles 2, just experienced the same, and they went from Mostly Positive to Mostly Negative overnight!

The Real Problem with Ines NerfWell, everyone has probably already noticed the review bombing about the nerf. And all I see are stupid conversations about the subject, most of the time, the main issue with this huge nerf is completely ignored (and yes, it was a huge nerf. if you don't realize how big it was, it's because you haven't played or farmed that much with her).Starting with the biggest issue: The Broken TrustThis is the biggest issue of all. Many players, like myself, invested heavily in the character, including cosmetics, and also in farming a good reactor (which is still the hardest thing to farm in this game, you basically need divine luck to get a decent reactor. Yes, they’ve made it a bit easier, but I still think it’s the hardest thing to farm).And then, the dev team, the same team that promised a no-nerf policy, comes out with such a heavy nerf to the Descendant, long after her release... It wasn’t the first nerf in the game. They did it with Kyle too, although that one felt more like a bug fix than an actual nerf. And that "nerf" happened shortly after people discovered how strong he could be, not two months later.This completely breaks the trust we had in the developers. It wasn’t just a simple nerf, t was an HUGE nerf!

About the Nerf:It feels like people don’t actually understand how Ines worked. She was a glass cannon... you could decently clear Void Purge 27 with her, but she would go down in 1 or 2 hits. The strategy was to hide behind cover and constantly use her skills while staying out of sight.Try doing the same now, with the increased delay on casting skills and the fact that her skill can no longer go through walls, you’ll see just how much of a nightmare Purge has become.Oh, and let’s not forget that on maps that aren’t flat, her first skill has basically become useless, it gets canceled easily by uneven terrain.Just think about it, we have to repeat the same mission nearly 50 times. I had to run Broken Boundary 50 times (hit pity 5 times) just to complete Ancient Knight. Now imagine adding 1 minute or 30 seconds to each of those runs (and that’s being optimistic, considering how uneven the terrain is in that mission)...Now, not only do you have to sacrifice her damage (and External gear too) just to barely survive, but you also have to expose yourself just to use her first skill...and her fourth skill now has three times the cooldown.No, i dont want a slower farming pace(some players, immediately quit missions the moment there isn’t a good AoE character to carry them through it faster), i understand to many just couldn’t keep up with the fast farming pace Ines brought to missions, but we want to complete mssions more fast possible to go farm againEdit: Just to add, if this nerf had happened shortly after her release, none of this would be happening.The big problem is that this massive nerf came two months after her launch.

Balance, as many players have said, should have come from buffing characters that really needed it. That was long overdue.Some Descendants were still stuck at Season 0 power levels, outdated and underperforming, and clearly needed reworks or buffs to keep up with the latest content. Improving those characters would have made the game more enjoyable for everyone and likely brought more variety to team compositions.The truth is, other Descendants should have been brought up to par with the release of Ines. But that did not happen, and because of that, a noticeable power gap appeared. That gap was not Ines’ fault. It was the result of delayed balancing for the rest of the roster.One of the main reasons given for nerfing Ines was that she made it hard to design challenging content. But that argument does not hold up.Even if the developers released extreme difficulty content, there would always be someone who clears it on day one. This happens in every game with dedicated players. Whether it is Ines or another strong Descendant, high-level players will find a way.And for the people who now say "she's still strong" or "just switch mods," that misses the point entirely.If her being strong now is not a problem, then why was it a problem before? Why was she nerfed at all if she is still strong and effective after the patch?It does not add up. The standard keeps shifting, and Ines players are the ones paying for it.What did that actually achieve? Is new content going to be any better because of it? Or was it just a reaction to complaints with no real long-term benefit to the game?People preferred the old Ines, plain and simple.
Initially, the nerf didn't bother me because I had already been using a cooldown-focused setup, speccing her reactor for cooldown and crit damage. When I switched to Tech and crit damage, I noticed a boost in damage output, so I stuck with that build. Her cooldowns remained optimal for skill spam, with her first skill at 1.3 seconds. Post-nerf, I reverted to a cooldown setup and achieved similar cooldown values (1.3 seconds on her first skill) by slotting arche tuning for cooldown. This adjustment didn't negatively impact my gameplay at all, as I was already accustomed to the cooldown setup.Testing her in various content after the nerf with a Tech and crit damage reactor revealed noticeable cooldown changes. These affected my ability to spam skills, pushing her first skill cooldown to 2 seconds. Reverting back to the original cooldown reactor felt much better and damage reduction barely affected my gameplay. Ines still cleared rooms efficiently, sped through content, and quickly dispatched bosses.

One thing we could do with is some kind of task in the middle of dungeons to slow players down. Stand in the circle gameplay was pretty whack, but maybe we could have had a mid-dungeon commander fight, as a prelude to the end dungeon double commander fight. It’d give the non-mobber characters something to do atleast, before the end room. And for best results, a stand in the circle activity for people to catch up followed by a mid dungeon boss fight. Of course, we couldn’t implement in the current 400%s because just imagine the shitshow if people had to take another 30 seconds to complete them, but it’d be nice for any further difficulty modes the devs ever implement.

My problem with the game is due to the unrewarding constant grinding. Trying to get Veildust has been kicking me in the balls. The nerfs are then implemented so that the balance of the races doesn't get too out of hand.This is what happens in video games with a large cast of playable characters that have been designed with principles of internal & external balance.None of the characters are individual products that you would personally need like a car, the game is the product instead. If the game is suffering from a poor internal balance then that needs to be fixed. F1 races are a game as well, not a vehicle needed by anyone to commute from point A to point B.

Lots of people are so not smart (I really want to type another word really similar to regarded but those same people may get offended so lets just go with "not smart") that they cannot see the bigger picture or are so used to getting abused by game companies, that they see no issue with this kind of pratices that I assume are done with malicious intent.Even an empty gesture like giving all the caliber spend on any Ines related items/bundles from the store, together with giving an energy activator and all the catalysts used on Ines without removing said items from the account would go a long long way in harnessing goodwill from players dissatisfied with the patch. Hell had they done that, I would probably had overlooked all the issues with the patch and thrown some more money at them but they didn't, they just threw an empty apology and decided to move on.
Not the first game to have in the ToS that anything can change at any time. Not the first game where nerfs are needed. Part of me buying the skins and such I did was supporting the devs to make good decisions for the longevity of the game so that my spending would be worthwhile and nerfing Ines is part of that.The problem is they did a poor job of nerfing her as they didn't fix what was wrong. Her issue was OP damage, not being able to hit enemies through obstacles, which other descendants can still do.Sorry, but as I spender I'm more than fine with game balance to keep play enjoyable so long as changes align with some semblance of what the game is supposed to be. That the devs have issues keeping the "what it's supposed to be' part consistent is another matter.If someone is only spending on the condition that nothing will ever shift in the game in a way they don't like then they shouldn't be spending. People that think something along the lines of “shut up and take it” is peak gaming, are the ones with less than 1-brain cell, unable to really see what is going on.Also there are lots of people so obsessed with asking for proof of the "no nerf policy" which was pretty clear for lots of players through both the developer words and, more importantly, through their actions which I'm going to list next:Game was released with Bunny/Ult-Bunny an OP mobbing descendant from day 1. Plenty of regarded people asked for nerfs on this descendant and the developers said they were not going to do it, that they would first try to balance through content, which to this day they have not done a SERIOUS attempt yet.Later another OP descendant was released: Hailey. She was OP in a completely opposite direction from Bunny, not sure why the regarded people asking for nerts didn't ask for nerfs on this case since she easily made all the colossus mechanics in the game irrelevant.Then they adjusted Freyna prior to Ult-Freyna release to a never seen before OP level since she was way better than Bunny at mobbing and, while not on the levels of Hailey, she was somewhat good at bossing too, which I assume was done in order to boost sales of Ult-Freyna. The same regarded people asked for nerfs again and the developers again said they were not going to do it, that they would first try to balance through content, which to this day they have not done a SERIOUS attempt yet.Afterwards came Ines, released with better skills than Freyna at both mobbing and bossing. Both regarded people and the devs did their thing.Latest descendant, Serena, was released. She has good mobbing skills and never before seen OP bossing capabilities. Regarded people did their thing again and devs said they were considering nerfing Ines.Up to this point, can you really blame players for expecting no nerfs after all of the above happening for months since the game was released?
Now we are here after the last patch was released in favor of "muh balance" crowd. The devs doing a 180 in what was understood before about nerfs. What makes it even worst is that they said it was done in the name of balance when in reality it did nothing at all since, like lots of the half a brain cell people were able to point out, Ines is still able to do the same as before and Serena was not nerfed yet because the devs said they are "still gathering data on her" which can be translated as "we are still not satisfied with the money milking from selling Serena related items yet so when the data indicates that the money milking is no longer in acceptable levels then, and only then, we are going to nerf her too".

I think, I have a screenshot with 14 minutes on PC. Also I cleared it in 8 minutes or so later.You clearly don't understand how damage is calculated in this game or how this game works at all.For example, single mob can have 10k hp. But if you hit it with 200k bullet, game will show you 200k. But in reality it is just 10k. 190k is over damage.So the stronger weapon you have, the bigger numbers game will show you in the end.Mobs pack spawns are different too. They have mobs with more and less hp.Also damage to shields.The fastest run we had with the lowest dmg. So 1,5 bil for Duos is the most effective. But 2+ billions is super lame.For example, one shot of 1 phase of boss is true damage and best for time record. If you do 2 shots, it is already over damage and you lost time.
The problem of nerf is about trust. They told in the past that there will be no nerfes even though ppl cried about Bunnies and Freynas.So ppl, that actually spent money in game, were sure, that they are making solid investments. Not to mention time, spent on some crap like reactors and equipment farm.But with that nerf they are clearly signaling, that anytime they can nerf any descendant to pumpkin level. ill give you some insight thenyou talk about ines without mentioning her 4th 3x cooldown changes from 30-90s that doesnt get solve with "cooldown modules" even if you stack em.her 4th require custom resource that you build off your 1 and 2 that also got changesher 1 is inconsistent now and her 2 have massive drawback which is you cant reproc it on the same enemy so you cant even do dmg with it multiple timesher 3 is straight up garbage the fact that it has dmg fall off and if you get too close she can get knocked down from her skill with enemy melee attack.the dev nerfing her dmg is completely fine, however her cooldown and interval shouldnt be touched because that directly impact rotations and gameplay loop.also it does not solve the issue that people got carried in low lvl content like 400% dungeon which is the main reason these casuals keep calling the holy trinity (bunny/freyna/ines) as overpowered.they buff bunny and didnt touch freyna which defeat the purpose of their ines nerf. if they plan to let casuals contribute and play pub in 400% dungeon.for bossing ines , she was never strong or even meta to begin with, she just "can" deal with them so if people want to they can.bossing meta is weapon and weapon enhancer descendant thanks to the existence of weapon core X being as strong as it is now.and to further talk about this topic, the fact that people saying "serena" is busted without realizing why is another reason why dev shouldnt listen to them, serena is currently as strong as she is because people combine her with weapon's that have weapon cores to further boost her effectiveness with her ability that boost weapon performance.

I agree the devs don't seem to be playing their own game. There is no point in nerfing Descendants. This isn't a PvP game. Forcing players to constantly switch away from their favourite Descendants and have to farm more builds may be good for their short term metrics, but simply turns away players longer term.I've built enough Descendants and really only use Ines when I want an easier time doing certain content. Nerfing her only reduces my pool of Descendants in the long run. Just buff or rework the weaker Descendants; there's a big pool of them to tinker with. Nerfing favourites just antagonises the remaining player base.

I have stated it before, but happy to explain to our online law professionals again... EULA is the lowest level of law. For one thing yea, those set pieces have hard specific stats so your forced to take max shield on one of em, and as an Ajax, you want to be there at the front, having all eyes on you initially while the others come up behind you free to do their thing. So trading 80-120 percent or more of your tankiness to get a 15-25 percent damage increase isnt advised.The changes are really good though, I had to change a few mods on my Jumping Jax build to make it more efficient, much higher damage than it was before. Had to run some Range Cap tests as well, and got em to where I want em to be. Would I use the build on Colossi or VEP? No not really unless they remove the skill reduction for VEP, if they remove that then yea, I would, cuz it means I can help immediately clear all the small fry just leaving the elites to then immediately turn and fire on.
im posting this here too because i don't think people can build without a youtuber or streamer to tell them how to play.im just helping you don't have to do anything i put.The ines nerf was not a nerf just a adjustment.replace a damage mod for nimble fingers cd mod ( she didn't even need a CD mod before ) , the tuning tree for skill power gives you that mod stat back and if you go up the tree to the gold cooldown and grab the skill crit damage ones. she does the same damage with maybe 1 1/2 second CD more on her 1st skill and her 4th skill being under a minute can't be spammed anymore.she quite literally still does the same damage, her 4 was never going to do more damage than her 3 vs a boss and her still being able to spam her 1-2-3 skills hasn't changed much.people are just mad that you can't hide behind a wall and spam her 1st skill and cheese the game.

Once you have that though, there literally is no thinking required.Even the hard enemies, and bosses. Her 1 can pretty much destroy content w/o even trying and the community knows it. So she had to be nerfed. Now her 1 has to have a line of sight, yet she is still busted. Her dmg output is slightly nerfed. With arche tuning, modules, reactor...she still destroys content so it was pretty pointless. Plus they buff the male descendents which the community accepted that in a positive outcome.The costumes isn't the problem. Some say it's very generic, yet ppl got it anyway. I can say that it's lazy, yet if they were to make better looking costumes, they know that it'll cost more due to more time adding more detail on said costume and ppl will complain over that so it's dang if you do, dang if you don't. You can't win over that.Other than that, ppl are bored. They blow through the content the moment it comes out, max it out for a whole day, burn though abyss colossi all day to get the costumes for the descendents, then complain that there's not enough content. Again, can't win over that.Nexon, the devs isn't going to focus on the Steam reviews that much when they have in-game data to see if the game is going well or not. Pax East is probably going to further tell if the game still in a good spot or not or the next quarter report in a couple of months.

It's easily one of her most fun builds being able to just explode orbs and kill offscreen mobs since there doesn't seem to be any range limit for explosive life as long as an orb exists somewhere. Also fits Gley thematically since I never understood why a character with blood themed powers was focused on guns so much. Only downside is much like all her other builds, the rest of her kit ends up sitting there unused but thats more of an issue of gook designers being properly design cohesive kits
