You should use whichever best fits your situation, IE: if you need to slightly maneuver and reposition yourself, use the mid thrusts, if the monster part you're aiming it is above you and reachable use high thrusts, use the B counter finisher if you anticipate an attack and know you can counter it, use the sweep combo if the monster is stationary and you won't whiff.

Both ended up doing around 3.6k DMG with only basic gear after 30 seconds using a timer. While the running attack managed to get around 300 to 400 more damage, but it's pretty much only useable if they're downed.Basic Mid Thrusts are also vastly safer and let you block at pretty much any time. However, it's also one of the few combos that locks you down heavily on lance, giving you no defensive options and the "DPS" is like 1% better over all. So unless you know exactly what the monster is going to do next, I'd suggest not using it unless the monster is downed. If you do 10000 damage from that combo, you'll be on like 9850 damage on your basic mid thrust combo assuming you're always hitting a weakpoint. The only benefit to it is sharpness, really. Instead just use High Thrusts to hit the head or Mid Thrusts to give you the highest level of mobility or defense as you can block from pretty much any time on mid thrusts.And supplement your damage with trying to get those big counter hits as much as possible.And then use that combo when the monster is downed. Unless you can get caught on the monster, then the running charge is better "DPS" but that also screws your sharpness.
