Additional isn't finished, hasn't been updated in over a year, and ends after act 2. They're both quite fun. Additional adds wackier encounters like minotaurs in act 1 and monks and dragons, while Extra is a bit more grounded and blends in with vanilla better. They're both worth trying if you want mods like that since they're both fun, but Extra is both more complete and more vanilla, so if you only want one, I'd go with that.Not at the same time though. I cant in goo conscience use 2nd martial character in the lategame once you have enough items to fully DC kit 2 + 1 with acuity setup. I really wanted to keep Astarion as a rogue either scroll casting with acuity hat+sneak attacks or Swashbuckling. But as lore bard he can just lock down Raphael or together with my Bladesinger Hold person entire army of enemies.Undead are a problem tho, Lorebard is a godlike controller until enemy is immune to 90% of your spells and your damage is pretty minimal.
