Just about done wrapping up my Fallout/Wasteland loot and shoot style modpack, might remove a couple of the extra create addons, any QOL or performance mods I should include? also looking for anything that adds fun loot to dungeon chests without adding full on structures like the tarot card or ring mods, the cities can pull from generic loot tables already

>>537724151Okay. It's slow going, but I went and grabbed more saplings from a few more ironwood trees down south of the meteor impact. I've made my first ingot from squashing ironberries. I'm up to 5 bonsais of them now. Also made the squeezer so I can 1.75x the ore I've been saving. We'll see how long this lasts.
>>537730652I've gotten up to seven ironwood bonsais now. I'm inching towards a tenth ingot. I'm torn between an Iron Pickaxe or a Hopper. Really didn't like Liminal Industries as a techpack. The world is very well designed and the basic ideas are also very good, which is part of why I suspect it is so popular: most people only engage with the beginning of modpacks and never make it into the later sections. The other reason it is popular is, of course, because of Create.Which would be fine, but there is barely even any Create in the modpack. Instead it is a bloated mess that forces you to use Immersive Engineering, Botania, Eidolon, Tinker's, Thermal Dynamics and of course AE2. It also includes Mekanism and a bunch of smaller mods for extra recipe list bloat.Aside from me being unable to decide which mod addition I hate more, Botania or Eidolon, none of them are particularly well integrated. Even the Create addons have been added carelessly, e.g. the low-heated burner has been altered in functionality but the in-game description still states otherwise. The modpack tells you early on to automate as much as possible or you will regret it, but there simply is no reason to. Every step in progression takes you to a new mod or ingredient that doesn't rely on automation, in fact you would be an idiot to automate anything past basic resource creation.Really, really bad techmod design in action. Kill all YouTubers.

Then I went, ok, I should go down and get some of the next tier of stuff I couldn't get with the copper pickaxe and had left behind anyway. The problem is that it steers you into trying to jerry-rig a Create deploying system to automate the crucible for gold production, which is not only dogshit but especially retarded when you realize a tuff setup is both much more well designed (Botania actually is designed with some automation in mind), unlike the fucking mod mechanic that requires dropping loose items that sit in a block until a variable timer advances the recipe, and god fucking forbid there's any more steps beyond that.Eidolon does a fine job in the pack for the purpose of major progression like the summoning gating mobs (and by extension blaze burners), but trying to put the square peg in the round hole that is automating the Crucible is absolute unwashed ass of a concept.

It also helps that said modpack limited itself to trying to fuse two separate mods, instead of like five ones as Liminal Industries attempts to do.The presence of Immersive Engineering is confusing too because there simply isn't any reason to use it, for most things they could've just added Create: The Factory Must Grow or Create: New Age. Only Thermal Cultivation ones. The Thermal Foundation hammers are currently accessible to me. 10 ingots per hammer. Copper could be made in the standard crafting table. Iron had to wait for this Blacksmith's Workshop. I believe my path is meant to be wrought with varied pains in various places, not just my ass.

Been a minute since I last was on pathserb. Busy times will continue but I should be able to at least get on a bit in the weekends again.Very happy to see the serb hasn't been completely dead. I was a bit worried given the lack of posting. Looks like someone has been very hard at work building a new transportation system with an insanely cool ticketing system. Why is there still no decent biome mod that:>feels implemented in a way mojang would do it>doesn't add 5,000 different plant blocks for each biome>isn't tranny-codedWhy does this feel so difficult to achieve whej biome mods are so popular?
>>538258850Modding always relies on the modding community and the Minecraft community is in the tight grip of the tranny cabal. Biome mods in particular require inter-mod compatibility. Entire mod projects get cancelled because the lead dev said a slightly problematic thing a few years ago.
>>538251814>Looks like someone has been very hard at work building a new transportation system with an insanely cool ticketing system. No waiting around for trains that are uselessly lapping around the railway system, just tell it where you want to go and hop on.How do you build such a system? In my serv we have trains lapping around like retards.
>>538260057The "tickets" are non-repeating schedules. When a schedule is sent to a train station with automation (like a chute or hopper) the station sends a copy of the schedule to the train parked there. Then the schedule is removed from the station and sorted back to where they belong. Sorting schedules needs the filter item (the one crafted with iron nuggets and wool), since it needs to be NBT sensitive. Every location has 2 stations, a departure station and an arrival station. The trains wait at the departure stations, and the schedules send the trains to the specified arrival station and back to the original departure station.
Cobblemon 1.7 is so unbelievably comfyWhen they add Gyms and trainers I think I'll start my forever world
>>538258850>feels implemented in a way mojang would do itWhat does this mean exactly?
Looking through the old screenshots, last time on pathserb TJF told me about this very special place here. A custom biome that's enormously peaceful and friendly on the eyes. I won't spoil it for now but definitely worth a visit. Not too far from the airstrip out west. I'm hearing rumours of a guardian farm and metro system expansion in that direction as well.

>>538281246>>538281580They're planning on disabling the vanilla mobs at some point I'm pretty sure. One of the core pillars of Cobblemon and the main reason it split away from Pixelmon was to feel like Pokémon in Minecraft rather than Minecraft with Pokémon sprinkled on top. Eventually there will be all sorts of immersive mechanics like Pokémon helping you to mine, chop down trees, fight mobs, collect loot etc. I guess mounts are the start of that, but yeah it's pretty barebones at the moment.>>538280679TOYMY but I haven't made any serious packs yet. >>538292259do I need a beefy gpu to run shaders like those?
>install PollyMC and a bunch of mods>they show up in the mods tab of the instance>they show up with a checkmark in the log tab>game loads without a single modWhat the fuck?
>>538295757>starts up in a minute or twoInteresting. I might look into that later. I had a moment the other day where I was fiddling with java args and memory settings (even trying GraalVM on java 8) and I went from 7-8 minute loading time on my default settings to 6-7 minute loading time.
>>538297864https://github.com/Radk6/MC-Optimization-Guide/blob/main/modpack-specific/packs-1.12.2.md#dungeons-dragons-and-space-shuttles-ddssu can run graal Java 25 with cleanroom which is lightning fast compared to old J8
>>538297465Did you forget to install forge to the instance?
>>538049161godDAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAMN
>>538303690you did NOT build that
>>538303396No, I installed it the same way I installed the other mods (dropping the .jar into the mods folder). Is there some other method I should've used?
>>538305917Right click the instanceEdit InstanceVersion tab (should be the first selected when opening the edit)Install ForgeI'm not 100% sure if just dropping the forge jar in the mods directory is supposed to work, but I'm pretty sure it wouldn't because under normal conditions vanilla minecraft doesn't look for a "mods" directory at all, so it wouldn't read. If you were installing forge separately (without a launcher) it has to rewrite some parts of vanilla minecraft files so it can do the extra things. Launchers handle that slightly differently but it still requires the extra step of explicitly installing forge for that instance. Otherwise the launcher still thinks you're just running vanilla.
>>538305917this isn't how u install forge. the forge jar is the actual file you run to start minecraft, and it needs other stuff as well.just use the actual installer of whatever launcher you have or the forge installer on their website
>>538251014feels cobbled together, mon
>>538281580if you can use your mons to defeat the endedragon that's cool
>>538292259>They're planning on disabling the vanilla mobs at some point I'm pretty surearen't those pokemon passive? feels like it'd make lots of systems redundant or useless
>>538314181Some Pokémon will aggro the player, like in PLA
My goal today was to build some residential housing in my city.Instead I overhauled my raw materials processing room and implemented a basic sorting system with TE caches that is just going to get depricated anyway once I get AE computers.Oh well. Maybe next weekend I'll get around to doing anything of any actual importance.
>tfw u can claim chunks with ftbtools and creepers don't blow up shit anymore in them
>>538323096you can just turn off mob greifing
>>538324817que? how where
>>538325089/gamerule mobGriefing false
>>538319580I've also now rushed out a shipping yard for the airship I plan to build at some point in the future in an effort to feel slightly less ineffectual
>>538325210that doesn't work on servers though
For the PathServ are user passwords changed anytime ? Since i can acess the server but any pass i put it says wrong password.
>>538292259Oh that's actually really cool and pretty much exactly what I would want for pokemon minecraft mod, since it's not just the mobs that clash with pokemon but also the standard minecraft gameplay like cutting trees and searching for ores since those don't really intersect with pokemon at all with the way they work now
>>538292259sounds souless, I liked the pokecube approach, just minecraft but with pokemons as mobs, without dumb fancy guis and bloat
>>538333171sounds gay
