Alright. There's a few branches that needed me to do this first, so here we are. Blacksmith's Workshop made, now to make it work. I had thought about moving back into the mountain, but at the moment I believe it would be helpful to have my gardens with the sky visible. I'll keep it in mind and depending what I need room wise for other things I might make a bridge to the cliff and dig in. It mentioned hammers/excavators "pre-smeltery" with this workshop. Would be nice.

Aaaaand I'm back to needing to go out for iron... Kinda. For pure logging, these bonsais are total shit. Swapped over to rubber saplings and they're doin' numbers on "fruit". Same chance as sticks and I'd normally have to wait a while to tap this tree again. There were a few ironwood trees over near that wagon I stole my bed from. With some finagling, I have a renewable source of iron with some elbow grease. I think. I'll report back in a bit.

Just about done wrapping up my Fallout/Wasteland loot and shoot style modpack, might remove a couple of the extra create addons, any QOL or performance mods I should include? also looking for anything that adds fun loot to dungeon chests without adding full on structures like the tarot card or ring mods, the cities can pull from generic loot tables already

Couldn't find a good mod for power armor, Scorched Gun 2 does add gas masks and some Jinroh looking armor though

For some reason Create: Nuclear didn't include a dedicated nuke and the other Nuke mod addon for create looks like baby's first mod

There's another one for use with big cannon's but it requires Alex's Caves as a dependency which uh, I don't want to fuck with

Still trying to find something that works though

Okay. It's slow going, but I went and grabbed more saplings from a few more ironwood trees down south of the meteor impact. I've made my first ingot from squashing ironberries. I'm up to 5 bonsais of them now. Also made the squeezer so I can 1.75x the ore I've been saving. We'll see how long this lasts.

I've gotten up to seven ironwood bonsais now. I'm inching towards a tenth ingot. I'm torn between an Iron Pickaxe or a Hopper. I'm not sure if a hopper will work on a Bonsai the way I would expect, or if the way I expect would NEED the hopper variant. On the Iron Pickaxe side, I could finally go looking for redstone/diamonds.

A) is on a completely separate world gen
B) has it's own special path for making weapons that only works on the alt world gen method

believe me i want to have a working fatman in the pack but i'd have to fully extract the files and update crafting recipes to work

for the nuke issue there isn't any good mod for it in 1.20.1, either it's a mid tier craft and would leave you unsatisfied or its the Alex's Cave's path, which you might as well just install that with The Lost Cities and not deal with all the create nonsense, like it's the kind of thing that screws up a world not something the majority of single player survival sessions are going to choose to get to

any ideas on how to filter so that only different multiples of items pass into the electrolyzer?
tried chest buffers but they didn't work like i thought they would and set a limit for EVERYTHING that passes into them, ender io limited item filters work ok but are seriously slot limited so i'd need a tonne of machines and only one would work at a time

enderio has a "existing item" filter where you can stick items in an inventory (1 copy of each in a disconnected chest) then shift-rightclick it to set the filter from the inventory.

Really didn't like Liminal Industries as a techpack. The world is very well designed and the basic ideas are also very good, which is part of why I suspect it is so popular: most people only engage with the beginning of modpacks and never make it into the later sections. The other reason it is popular is, of course, because of Create.

Which would be fine, but there is barely even any Create in the modpack. Instead it is a bloated mess that forces you to use Immersive Engineering, Botania, Eidolon, Tinker's, Thermal Dynamics and of course AE2. It also includes Mekanism and a bunch of smaller mods for extra recipe list bloat.

Aside from me being unable to decide which mod addition I hate more, Botania or Eidolon, none of them are particularly well integrated. Even the Create addons have been added carelessly, e.g. the low-heated burner has been altered in functionality but the in-game description still states otherwise.

The modpack tells you early on to automate as much as possible or you will regret it, but there simply is no reason to. Every step in progression takes you to a new mod or ingredient that doesn't rely on automation, in fact you would be an idiot to automate anything past basic resource creation.

Really, really bad techmod design in action. Kill all YouTubers.
