The axe is actually quite good. Vanguard gets easy free grapple kills. Assault gets +50% gunstrike damage.
>>
>>538485919
>Assault gets +50% gunstrike damage.
Assault used to have this without needing a parry stick, but apparently Saber thought that was broken despite Assault being in such a dogshit state back then.
>>
>>538485919
>Assault gets +50% gunstrike damage
I don't vote to kick over any other loadout shit but if would if you're taking the fucking axe on assault into absolute over the fist or either sword.
>>
>>538486039
Based on that English I doubt you clear anything anyway
>>
>>538485619
It's been a bit since I ran Absolute Decapitation but this was in Ruthless since I was leveling up my power axe.
I was scared for a second the unkillable lictor crawled its way in here.
>>
>>538486307
>he pressed F one too many times
>that means he doesn't win on absolute
Sure thing ruthlesslet
>>
Yea, this weekly stratagem is easier than last week. I already did it twice (once I crashed right before trygon die)
Having to fight only one field boss makes the mission do much easier. People are intimidated by the 25% health modifier but it is more manageable if you understand shield management. Needing to kill 2 fields boss lead to 2 major points of failure. Trygon is the easiest part of the mission in comparison.
>>
Does killing an end-level boss grant armory data now too?
>>
>>538486437
Uh huh, sure thing kiddo
>>
Beginner: the game just resolves around gunstrike and parry.
Good players: the game actually revolves around funneling and nuking enemies while picking off dangerous enemies with guns safely
>>
>already did weekly on both difficulties
>bought what I could afford
>barring spending 3+ hours per day playing stratagems for pocket change, half of which are shit, I can't earn more until next week
They could increase daily rewards to 25/50 and it'd still feel somewhat slow
>>
The hidden lictor modifier in yesterday vortex is alright, but the worst part was actually the hidden modifier that destroys your ability recharge.
>>
>>538486487
>but it is more manageable if you understand shield management.
You can shield manage all you want until the game drops a Neurothrope, Biovores and a massive swarm to drop your health to zero.
>>
>>538486821
Good player: Doesn't die
Bad player: Dies

Its that fucking simple.
>>
>>538486834
The rewards for the dailies are insane. Because half the Operations suck anyway (Chaos) and then its just RNG on whether its a fun or absolute trash mode to play.
>>
>>538487085
That is the toughest part of the mission for sure but fighting the field boss check on 25% hp is only slightly harder or about equal to fighting them with blind and invincible lictor. However, only having to do that once per mission instead of twice per mission significantly raised the success rate.
It is a bit of RNG but good teamwork/position can get through many variation. It helps having melta bombs to insta clear the summoned majoris/extremist or at least krak for the extremist.
>>
>Join Stratagem
>DEFEAT
Boy I love how long it takes to load into and out of these matches. I swear people are worse in Stratagems than in normal Operations.
>>
>>538487613
Hard stratagem is Absolute+, not regular Absolute.

Saber is retarded, they need to balance Hard into just regular Absolute instead of like wave 15 hard siege mode.
>>
Do we have any actual proof that there are hidden modifiers like enemies having increased HP in Stratagem Hard
Any datamined numbers or anything?
>>
>>538487793
Anon, you can just play a mission of Absolute and then go into Hard Strat.

My Stalker Bolt Rifle only needs five shots to kill a Nid in Absolute. In Hard Strat it's way more than five. I want to say eight minimum.
>>
>>538487793
you can just play it and feel it
Datamining can give you the exact numbers but I know how my weapons should perform on absolute and they're not performing to that level in the mutators. Anything that you can count the number of blows will tell you immediately, stuff like sniper weapons or power fist.
>>
>>538487880
>>538488047
Can someone do a webm comparison between absolute and stratagem hard?
>>
Old Absolute was easy, most of the oldtimers here beat it.
They buffed Absolute in 9.0, making it slightly difficult.
Hard siege is Absolute up until wave 10, then they turn the difficulty up from that point forward by making you eat more damage.

Does Tactical's ranged damage class perk apply to the dot as well or is it just the initial flame on the pyreblaster

I can't speak for any other Chapter, but Black Templars and Space Wolves are consistently shit.
>>
>>538490201
I believe burn is its own unique source of damage. I don't think it's affected by any of your Column 1 perks, but it is affected by the radius perk within its own tree. Note that it specifies "enemies within 10 meters TAKE 20% more damage." Meaning all sources apply.

They probably think substantial is a good challenge
I don't mind them having fun larping on easier difficulties but get them the fuck out of my lobbies. My fun in Absolute is derived from 3 well skilled dudes pushing their way through obscene odds with surprising efficacy, where everyone is doing their job and turning back the giant waves, not where one dude has to roll slop to survive the ringer long enough to sneak some hits in for an execute while 2 'crusaders' are on the floor.
>>

Has anybody else tried the Marksman Carbine with the 1.5x headshot modifier that offers more ammo? Either I'm not sensitive to damage changes, or this thing deals way more damage than the stats imply. I'm not noticing any real difference between this version and the x2 headshot version, I am melting heads on Absolute.
>>
>>538492623
That is a big difference. Sniper and tact both have easy way to get ammo so there is no reason to pick the ammo version
>>
>>538492742
Not him but I only ever use it on vanguard
>>538492623
I've never noticed a difference that makes it worth sacrificing all that ammo for. It is faster to kill shit but you lose out on so much fly swatting potential which makes you have to run at every gaunt and goat instead of just shooting them and moving on.

The biggest and only notable downside is you can't mash M1 and maintain accuracy, you have to pace your shots. Otherwise it's good, I'd definitely rank it next to the Stalker, Bolt Rifle (Accuracy) and Heavy Bolter if you just want to shoot and not get bogged down in gimmicks.
>>
So Bulwark shield is apparently meta now? I haven't played since launch and honestly back then the shield bash was pretty fucking middling. Do I take the shield buffing perks now and go to town with it?

Just an example video with the 1.5x version. I think this is me being overly cautious because I didn't want to miss shots, not shoot anything around this guy, while also being quick enough to not have the bots fudge the damage on display.

IMO, Marksman Carbine is a really underrated gun. It never seems to get any attention.
>>
i´m still fucking bewildered by the swap between the 20% ranged damage prestige perk and the 15% ranged damage tree perk on assault.
the (now) 20% increased ranged damage is in the same row as 50% decreased chp decay and equipment generation so it never gets picked, and the prestige perk is 5% weaker now, so they effectively nerfed him for no fucking reason. its a tiny nerf thats not really noticable, but its so fucking random its testament to sabers incompetence.
>>
>>538496672
The perk system is a mess and what leads to such horrible railroading. I'd rather we be able to pick from ANY of the perks with a set limit of 8 vs. the garbage we have now.
>>
>>538496859
It's even easier to just pick the best 8 perks instead of having to make choice in a column
>>
>>538496954
The problem is the "choices" are "two mid perks that would be cute in a gimmick build, and one really busted perk that blatantly mogs them."
>>
The burst pistol is really nice for triggering sniper's equipment perk

All stratagems have done is made me feel confident in saying this game needs a complete bot overhaul patch pronto.
I'm sat here in the elevator waiting for this assault and heavy bot to get into the elevator because unlike in good games where the bots are programmed to stick to the player, these bots are prioritizing chasing the constantly spawning minoris.

>>
>>538500380
WWZ mutators were played on insane difficulty, not extreme
SM2 mutators are played on absolute+ where enemies even have more hp scaling than normal absolute
And that's besides classes working very differently and there being a lot less active defensive shit to manage that fucks up shitters if something goes wrong and layers on top of you, in WWZ your defense was purely getting temporary hp from one of your class perks which every single class had for doing default shit, not having to manage parries and executes amongst the tides
I've completed both weeklies thus far but something like the unkillable lictor is a different animal than the unkillable bull

Yea, the invincible lictor is slightly stronger than invincible bull. Individually, bull is a stronger special than lictor. However, the invincible bull just fall over and lay there for a while before getting back up. It's easier to keep track of the bill and just take it down instantly the moment it gets up. Exterminator can straight up put fire claymore on the bull and blow it up as soon as it gets up. Invincible lictor just fuck off but can strike again in its own term which force you to engage in lictor gameplay again.

>I thought there were mutator extreme as well
Nope, you can start it right now and tank some hits from common zombies, they're scaled to insane. Extreme zombies down you in like 3 hits while you can tank 5 or 6 on insane with some temp hp.
Its not even how hard it is to keep track of the lictor or how much tankier it is (nemesis bull is just as tanky as a regular bull so you can trivialize him just as easy with just good tracking of his faceplate) but the fact that lictor attack patterns layer fucking horribly when stacked on top of other shit. If you think a terminus is ahead then you basically have to wait around for the lictor to pop out because if you don't and he appears during the terminus wave when you have 4 extremis and 13 warriors you have no way to actually defend against that. Even rollslopping might still get you caught. But he's too tanky to push through quickly and drive off (I almost think he disappears on a timer at this point, maybe reduced by dealing damage to him but not an actual HP bar) so you're stuck having to deal with 7 different medium enemies jumping on you on top of 20 gaunts and some neurothrope waves. Even if you make it out through that you're attritted of so much HP that some classes become mandatory since they have regen built into the kit

WWZ has fast, fun combat with barely any grinding. SM2 is slow, laborious, repetitive and has MASSIVE grind walls involved.

The problem isn't the modifiers, its the fact that people play WWZ for fun and SM2 to get gear thats slapped behind terrible chores.

There are harder games than SM2 that dont get this problem at all, like Vermintide 2s chaos waste mode, because they dont lock progress behind it. You just play to have fun.

They should just merge Fencing and Balanced since their userbase is the same. Balanced shouldn't exist, there's no point for that delay and Fencing shouldn't be low damage and pure speed.

Leave Block as the contrarian slow option, Fencing gets -1 or -2 damage but more speed, cleave and the usual Fencing noob circle.

Change Heavy's melee to Fencing, when they give Straban his Gravis armour switch it to Block and for every perfect block he shits out grenades/missiles.

>Elevator room
Can a terminus enemy spawn before the final saferoom?

It's kinda sad how much less fun neurothrope spawns are compared to helbrutes and carnifexes. They are either too easy because you're able to focus on dodging them or bullshit because you get an unfortunate spawn and they just force a critical existence failure on you by locking you into a bad situation.
I was trying to carry my friend through absolute termination yesterday as flamer tactical. We ran into a neurothrope just before the cave section, the other two went down, random guy left, and then I choked and died. Second run, neurothrope in the same area; no third guy, friend goes down, I focus and manage to fight through all the warriors to take it down. I just barely have time to breathe out and say "well, at least we're through that so now we're much safer for the rest of the mission" before the game hits us with the neurothrope spawn noise again with perfect comedic timing.
Third run I bring bolter to handle any neuro spawns since the flamer wasn't working for that for me. 2 carnifex spawns that I could handle with a bit of focus and knife + pistol while the other squad members died/handled majoris spawns.
It was a happy ending at least.

Some stratagems have more than four modifiers active but their fucking UI only has space to show four. Yesterday's Vortex had the unkillable Lictor even though it wasn't displayed, and today's Ballistic Engine has the ''don't play Tactical'' modifier even though that's hidden as well. Also the Combat Mastery effect apparently applies to enemies as well.

Why exactly this patch did not go on the PTS first is beyond me.

Ushabti Bone is so much better than Corax White, and I say this as a Raven Guard main who uses the former for veterancy. Brother with CTD problems here. I'm writing this for any Brothers who might encounter similar headache. It turned out the undervolting on my 5090 was causing the game to fall on its face. Reverting it to stock values brought back stable gameplay.
Funny, out of dozen games I've tested, new and old ones alike, SM2 is the only game that has problems with undervolting. I'll tinker with the settings to see if it generously allows any voltage/memory headroom. Love me some russian coding.
>>
>>538563017
Strange, I've undervolted my 3080ti to keep the temps under control and never had this issue. Maybe you went a little too far?
>>
One thing I've always hate abput the space marine series is that it doesn't depict the durability of power armor
Like how the fuck am I getting chipped by shitty single lasguns shots that can deal hp damage?
What the fuck is the point of the 2000 lbs of ceramite I'm wearing then?
>>
>>538563327
That's possible. The temps and power draw were excellent with the settings though. I will try to lower the clocks on my current voltage or increase it in steady increments and see how the game likes that.
>>
>>538562197

This issue is also present on the default heavy shoulder and some vanguard/sniper shoulders as well and has not been fixed
>>
In order for Assault to be equal to Vanguard
>While in the air you are immune to all damage from all sources (no prestige point needed)
>Using your jump instantly gives you 1 armor
>Landing a kill with your jump instantly gives you 1 armor
>Every kill of Extremis enemies gives you 30% HP
>Every kill of a medium enemy using a ground pound regenerates your skill

And what I love is that this can be done on weapons too, in order for any bolter to be on par with the Pyreblaster
>Penetrates an infinite number of enemies at close range
>Applies a bleed, causing significant damage over time
>Increases all melee damage by 20% when bleeding
>Can be hip-fired and wipe out hordes (no head clicking required)

I just can't fathom how Saber got to this point, except that the creative director is holding back everything because he 'thinks' he knows best.
>>
>>538562197
Ah I didn't know that, bummer in that case probably not

I will go with higher clocks, something around 2900@900mV. I just don't like my card heating up too much, though it's still reasonable around 65C at stock. I hate the fact that they essentially released 50 series as overclocked versions whereas in the past it was up to users whether they want to go overclocking route. These days it seems it's done at manufacturer level and the task to bring down the TDP to something more reasonable is shifted onto users instead.
>>538564001
That's peculiar. 9950x3d, right? I gotta ask out of curiosity, did you have similar crashes before you did all that?
>>
>>538566521
I don't know if this can be done but bolters should be able to equip different kind of ammo, plus the ammo should go through minoris, while it gets "stuck" in majoris and anything above and deals more damage after 1s to simulate the exploding projectile.
>>
>>538567381
>I don't know if this can be done
It could be, but it won't be for SM2, would require a significant rework on how bolters work. Our only hope is that for SM3 they make a different game closer to the tabletop/lore instead of whatever the hell SM2 is trying to be.
>>
>>538567512
Ah yes, tabletop and "lore" where bolter and every other weapon power is as powerful or as ineffective as the plot/gameplay needs to be

>>538567381
This tiered variant system shouldn't exist. The ideal system should have been a progressive research tree system ala MGSV where you unlock new Bolter patterns. At first, the only thing you can change on each Bolter is its ammo type, but then once you achieve an in-game rank of Veteran status or something, the game allows you to start Frankensteining the Bolters to your desired wants and needs, which is literally what high-ranking/respected marines are allowed to do with blessing from the Mechanicus.
>>
We really need a system that doesn't let thropes spawn in tiny fucking hallways
>>
>>538558218
I take it on Sniper and drop the ammo Prestige perk for the bigger blast radius on Meltas. You get so much ammo that it's just impossible to run out. It works beautifully in tandem with Sniper's equipment restoration perk too.
>>
>>538566521
to be equal to vanguard and bulwark they need to patch the healslut perks out of the game. its attrocious gamedesign and assault will never find a spot on a serious team for as long as this isn´t generalized.

>>
>>538571308
nah, i mean that they should add general compensation. a bit of regen on majoris/extremis/terminus executes. not an absurd number like 30% on extremis, but something. i´d propose a tiny % on majoris execute and 5% on extremis, 10% on terminus. and i´m heavily in favor of streamlining executes to unclude gunstrike-finishers. for example heaving to actually E the enemy as heavy to get ammo back is asinine as fuck.
having 2 healsluts that are basically mandatory on higher difficulty is awful gamedesign.

Joyful. Well liked. Inspiring.
Straban is the real life factory worker.
Little to no personality or emotions. Autism level charisma. Perfectionist chasing maximum efficiency.
Decimus is a hot blooded jigaboo steeped in pride. His intersection with Straban was pretty spot on to how a real life scenario like that between those two types of personalities would probably shake out. They have an occupational obligation to hang out for long periods of time, so naturally the extroverted nigger would inevitably attempt to reach out to the introverted chink, resulting in the latter responding with struggled bare minimum microresponses until the nig catches on to the tism and smoothly aborts the interaction.

Flesh Tearers or Lamenters? Because I wonder if Saber is going to make a cosmetic pack for them.

I am having a worse time on this weekly than last weeks, 25% health sucks, especially with the extra damage from enemies in hard mode

Bulwark with armor regen and Heavy with 25% team-wide ranged damage resist is mandatory. Assault is actually decent this mission because the increased Minoris means he gets to spam invincible ground pounds constantly.

Lamenters are popular but only in that people like the idea of them. On TT they are basically unicorns due to the checker pattern. Flesh Tearers are as popular and common as say, crimson fists. I.E you might find one guy in a 50km radius of your LGS that actually runs a 2k point army or more of them...maybe...ever.

Just don't lose armour aka don't get hit

Expect a Neurothrope spawn in the brain room or soon after

You need a Bulwark with armour regen, preferably not a shield bash turbonigger and one with multiple AoE since there's a fuckton of Minoris in the map

Tactical is a must so none of ya'll need to scrounge for Melta bombs and auspex for Extremis and Terminus spawn

Last guy can be anyone but Assault, the -75% health ensures that nigga will die more than usual

There aren't a lot of Extremis in the map to warrant a Vanguard but the grappling hook can cuck Majoris summoners and getting clutch Extremis HP can be useful

Sniper is viable except for the Bolt Sniper rifle where it has shit ammo economy against Minoris, you might want the Las Fusil, either carbine or the Stalker bolter

Heavy can use whatever except the Heavy Plasma since it takes too long to fire, Multimelta and Pyrecannon shines here

Blood Ravens were a random throwaway chapter who appeared in a 90s Eavy Metal magazine until DOW development.

Their lore happened around the Dark Crusade era but it was obvious that they're a generic non-Ultramarine chapter before then. The original campaign paints them as some Dark Angel, Raven Guard and Blood Angel chimeric hybrid but none of their drawbacks.

Then in Dark Crusade they're suddenly a psyker heavy chapter with Chaos origins (later penciled in to be Thousand Sons).

Exfiltration supplies are dogshit, you may not get an ammo crate until you encounter a lone drop pod just before the Melta section.

Then you can't change or recharge guns until before the Trygon fight yet the game constantly drops a Terminus enemy in the brain room section or just after.

There needs to be a guaranteed ammo crate in the chapel before the lift and another drop pod before the brain room.

Luck is still absolutely a factor, but you can make it through with no terminus spawn which makes it a breeze since the guardsmen soak up so much aggro. Use a fencing chainsword, power sword, or power axe, then switch to your big dick power fist for the boss. The trygon is easier to stunlock solo since the meltas respawn more often and it only digs one hole.

Are Assault players retarded?

My mate and I enjoy kicking people at the very end of the match if we find their performance subpar or if they tryhard.

I know that, you know that. Plebbiters just see;
>"Heckin wholesome good boys (Only good guys in the setting) who are also black AND THAT IS AWESOME who are family orientated despite being black, so that is why stereotypes in the real world are bullshit and they REALLY CARE for humanity just like me, a le humanist enlightened mind...."

I have friends who got into the setting recently and they get all their info from reddit and bricky. Surprise, surprise, the ones that really, REALLY like Marvel and Star Wars decided Salamanders are the best and their favourite but they still do not know who Tu'Shan is.

25% health is technically only like 25-50% reduction of your effective health if you count in the shield. There is a limit on enemy melee attack can damage the shield. However, range attack can break shield and bleed into your hp, so avoid getting sniped at all cost (luckily sniper doesn't spawn for the most part due to modifier)
You'll deal with a lot of minoris and prepare for those. Don't hesitate to take a lot of small executiona and gunstrike to top off your shield even against minoris
Terminus fight is the gatekeep fight as usual but unlike last week, you'll only have to face one for this mission. Terminus mob call in actually ignores the spawn modifier so they will call it group of around 5 majoris in beginning and 50% hp of the fight, and there will be extremist pair during itas well. If you can nuke the terminus at 50%, they won't call in, which is possible when you knock down a neurothrope and concentrate with your team with tact scan. You can get a melta bomb easily during the sand hole part so if you get there before terminus spawn, use your melta on the majoris spawn to take out good amount of them.

I like Salamanders but I don't want to be seen as a faggot redditor. Who should I like instead?
>>

I find it hilarious that the Salamanders are described both in universe and out as having inhuman skin and eye colors that make people unfamiliar with them think they're monsters at best and chaos worshippers at worst, and the retarded masses look at that and said "oh my lucky stars, a negro!"

Do primaris still use those? Can you use old models in current games?
