Take your shot and spend your time killing other things before you can take your next shot. Annihilator tanks are slow as fuck and take ten business days to pressure anyone. The QC also leaves you backpack free, so you often can just go take that weakpoint shot by repositioning quickly with warp pack or jetpack. Hell, I've seen cheeky bastards use hoverpack to jump up and get an angle on the heatsink from the front from above. Or, when faced head to head vs a tank, you can always opt to just kill it with a pyrotech grenade or strafing run. All of these AT support weapons are viable. Use your favorites. It's just objectively a skill issue if you're finding the QC in any way inadequate.

Don't miss. The Laser is for when your primary sucks dick/is doing something weird, and you need a weapon to punch medium enemies and dent heavies. Personally, I think the Laser suffers immensely for the existence of the machine guns, which all kinda do what the Laser does, but better. The lasers only real niche is always being fully "loaded" when you pull it out, which makes it a consistent "oh shit" weapon. The Quasar is very much the recoilless but worse, but that's a reasonable tax for being unwilling to use the backpack. Quasar is solid for bots, eh for bugs, shit for illuminate. It's great for blowing up objectives from across the map, and is pretty consistent for blasting bile titan heads, in my experience.Laser is... okay for everything, but excels at nothing. Probably best against the illuminate, where it IS probably one of the better things for sweepingly dealing with overseers, harvesters, AND the little shit ships. But, eh. If you're running a limited primary, it can fill that gap, but it doesn't exactly kill everything, even if it works on almost everything. It's a medium killer more than anything else.

You WILL get swarms of bugs dealing 0 damage to Devastator feet, Devastators doing 0 damage to chargers, and Chargers doing 0 damage to tanks. Enemies just kind of humping eachother, unable to damage eachother will become the new norm.
