We know that Shishiku was a psychopath who believed that he had to kill others so that he wouldn't die alone, and we also know that Kageaki grew up idolizing him because of the power and authority that he represented to young Kageaki. However, Kageaki eventually comes to terms with the reality that his father was just a normal man suffering from a terminal illness and that his actions were driven by fear and desperation rather than any sense of heroism or righteousness. This realization leads Kageaki to reject his father's violent path and to find his own way forward, ultimately leading to the events of the game where he takes control of the situation and decides his own fate.
