I get the feeling the cooldown is really just for recklessness since it's a laughably stupid/broken effect in vanilla. 15 seconds of guarateed crits is probably the strongest cd in the game by a mile.

Here's the thing. The pattern for hateforge grips dropped for me about a week or two ago in a hateforge quarry run. I didn't win it, however. Because I lost the roll, right? No. Because I didn't want to ninja it, so I rolled greed. Only one other guy rolled on it. That would've been thousands of gold for me, my epic mount instantly acquired before I even hit level 60. I could've been one of the few people able to make it and leveraged that. It's a 0.02% drop or so. But I didn't roll on it, because that's how much of a good guy I am.
I regret it now though. It has broken me. It was a mistake, possibly the biggest WoW mistake I've made. No more mr nice guy. It's over. Only toxicity and greed from here on out.

Tank warrior, on the other hand, was probably always intended to use a shield, so tying in their best defenses to their tank spec makes fine sense. (until you account for needing to produce adequate threat)

warrior has a lot of situation/conditional buttons that they can push that in theory should allow for a high level of skill expression, but really its just button bloat and you don't really end up pressing them a whole lot anyway. paladin on the other hand had situational buttons but they are utility based, and this was solved by making their kit a lot more useful in general.
what this translates to is, yes, i can push a lot of buttons on my warrior and be an effective tank, but on my paladin i press half the amount of buttons and am just as effective, if not more effective at tanking.
i would like to see the following changes

They already did this effectively, they gave improved shield slam a shield block like effect. The primary purpose of vanilla shield block is to make the warrior crush immune while the buff is active, and you can maintain almost 100% uptime of crush immunity with shield block as is plus the new improved shield slam talent. And the combination of those two abilities also makes for a more engaging type of gameplay vs spamming shield block on cd and never worrying about it beyond that.

It really isn't that strong, it's just not a total waste of rage like on stock vanilla. At the end of the day it's a typical attack that scales with attack power, that of course nerfs your white hits since it requires an equipped shield. it would not be worth it to use shield slam over MS or regular slam with a 2 hander.

Approaching a fix to leveling warrior by changing overpower is the wrong approach imhofamalam. What should be done is an adjustment to Heroic Strike. It only gets used because there's nothing else to do with rage, not be cause it's a good ability. It's simply there because overcapping on rage is worse than pressing HS. What they should do is make Heroic Strike an instant ability instead of a white-overwrite. As for how to balance it beyond that, whatever. It'd be easier to manage than fundamentally changing Overpower, and it would actually make the ability potentially decent. In the worst case scenario, it could be given a short CD, and people would just use Cleave as overcap-avoidance instead of HS.

What main abilities? It's all spread out across stances and everything with meaningful, instant damage (ie. not a Slam build) has a CD, which means you can't use half of it to actually dump, lest you literally dump rage into the void. You're relegated to shit-tier abilities like HS and spamming Hamstring (obviously not on Turtle because the devs are retarded and thought THAT was the best solution to whatever problem they were attempting to solve).

And? It's not hard to hit the buttons. My mouse buttons are for key things like interrupts or stuff I may really want to use while moving, like Distract on rogue. HS and Cleave work fine on normal keys.
Furthermore, the abilties don't go off instantly anyway. They're not tied to GCD but instead your swing timer, so they're still time-delayed, and depending on your weapon, they're even slower to take effect than the GCD rotation. It's not a big enough deal to demand others put this shit on their mouse.

At max rank and untalented, it's like 160 damage + weapon for 15+x rage where x is the normal rage you generate on a white hit. It's also a queued ability that exists instead of a swing rather than an instant, meaning it has less value in both PVE and PVP. Yes, it's better than nothing. No, that doesn't mean that it's good. Paying 30+ rage to do a bit more damage than I would've already been doing isn't something appealing until I have more rage than buttons to press. Ultimately, it doesn't matter because warrior scaling is busted, and it's actually better this way at end game to not break things further.

Dogshit= it doesn't do a trillion damage apparently. It is in fact one of the best designed abilities of the entire class, the entire game even. An elegant way to facilitate resource management gameplay, isn't on the gcd and therefore doesn't impede the primary rotation and isn't an instant attack instead tied to the swing timer meaning it can't be abused for huge burst damage combos in pvp. This alone makes warrior have the most well designed and engaging means of resource management of any class.

Compare it to rogue where all you do is wait for energy ticks or mana classes where all of your resource management is in passive gearing or one time consumables. Heroic strike and cleave are pure genius by comparison.

I have an idea, why don't we change taunt into a healing spell, since it isn't really useful until you start raiding anyway. Warriors are slower to level because they can't heal, so just make taunt a heal, easy. Who cares about how it affects end game?

it's literally impossible to fail hc if you just grind mobs to level, and grinding is also the fastest way to level. The only reason people don't grind from 1-60 is that it's miserably boring. So hc challenges are literally a way to force yourself to endure boredom, it's by definition an unfun activity. attempting an hc challenge by conventional questing leveling is almost guaranteed to kill you at some point unless you play a class with free escapes like hunter or paladin, and by extension the access to those free escapes totally undermines the significance of the challenge at all. I don't think anyone is impressed by an immortal paladin or hunter for that reason.

tl;dr hc is a bore yourself to tears simulator or a play a cheater class simulator. both are the lowest forms of gameplay imaginable.

AV is the most idea guy bullshit in all of wow. Whoever designed it was so lost in his own wank session that he couldn't see reality. it was clearly imagined as some kind of game of strategic territory capture but that only works with coordination, and bgs of 40 random strangers don't just lack coordination they have anti-coordination. Even worse when people want to play the game to have fun aka kill enemies, not wait around with dick in hand to prevent ninja caps or run back and forth a hundred times to retake ninja caps.

And the map itself is miserably poorly designed. why is sword spec considered to be better than axe spec? just for the slight chance that the extra attack will crit?
the axe master strike seems a lot better than a 3s disarm especially with a nerfed hamstring, plus flat 5% crit seems very marginally worse than 5% extra attack chance if at all. maybe on a dps spreadsheet but obviously that doesn't apply in pvp.

yeah but how wise is it to build for something that is literally a 0.001% chance, chaining sword spec procs is a phenomenally unlikely event, even 2 sword specs in a row is only a 0.25% chance. so again the theoretical damage advantage it gives over 5% crit seems negligible.

I don't think it's more valuable can you read? I'm saying the advantage of sword spec is so small that it probably doesn't matter. Getting a proc on top of a proc is a very very unlikely event. You would be lucky to have it happen once per game. Comparing that minor advantage vs losing out on a 4s root with axe master strike seems like a no brainer, having a root is incredibly valuable for a warrior.

Axe crit also increases the amount of deep wounds procs more than sword spec. That alone might make the damage from axes better than swords.
