You get to have one marginally beneficial thing happen to you for every dozens and dozens of disappointing outcomes. It's not even gambling, because hitting the jackpot actually increases your chances of getting more in the future. If Umamusume was a casino, it would be like: hitting the perfect parent run jackpot in the 'slots' (sub 1% percent even with optimal play) would give you around 5% increased odds at winning in roulette, then you'd have to hit big at roulette in order to get a 5% increase to your odds in Blackjack, in which the big prize was a slight increase in your odds at Poker, and so on and so on. And if you don't hit it big at like 5 or 6 different luck instances one after the other, you get jackshit. If you somehow manage to beat the gargantuan odds, congratulations, you have a unit that will be strong for about 3 weeks and you still have to gamble for it to win.
