Testing shows that 1 atk = 1 mag so a samurai with shit mag isn't necessarily bad if they make up for it in atk. But my opinion is you should focus mag on sam so you can also teach them spells.

More evidence is the 22 def and 18% atk, which I don't think you can get with just one enhancement on a 4 star item. The roll range is fucking insane on FAS as well, and can be as poor as 1 on flat stats, as evidenced by my old attempts on the Warrior ring.
