Exploration and Social elements have gotten D2 where it is today. The best D2 seasons were the ones where we could interact with randoms en masse without disrupting our own objectives. Activities like Nightmare Containment, Blind Well, public events, and even stuff like Vex Strike Force, all are part of the backbone of the game. The Pale Heart and Kepler both being instanced severely damages the player experience in these locations.Destiny 2 needs the Portal, but it also needs public explorable spaces where you can run into randoms without a loading screen.

Bungie previously said that they were aware of the issue and/or had no idea what it was, and they were investigating, but now their forum jannies started replying that the game was actually disabled due to a law, lol. Ever since the RU/UA war began, Bungie merely stopped selling officially in Russia/Belarus, which didn't stop anyone who still cared from getting the game and playing for three years. However, the game was still perfectly playable until the previous week when TAPIR errors began to occur. There was no official announcement that the game would be blocked in some specific region, or that accounts made in a certain country will be banned even if their owners have long left the country. Judging by the number of people who cared to report the error, we can potentially speak of hundreds or thousands of people cut off at a time when their player count was already dying on its own.
