Bungie should sincerely take lessons from NetEase when it comes to live service and engagement in video games. In Rising, I literally have a roadmap for all my characters that tells me what to do and how to do it in order to level up and reward me very generously for my achievements. It's called the Acclaim system. With this simple system, I engage with all the activities in the game, with all the characters I have and with all the weapons. On top of that, there's the bounty system, which allows me to vary my playing style. Everything I do in the game rewards me fairly.I'm not even talking about all the stuff that lets you customize your character and their gameplay style with artifacts, relics, and weapons.The portal in Destiny 2 is a horrible and stupid attempt to artificially increase engagement that has failed miserably. In Rising, I did everything all the time: patrols, strikes, raids, PvP, gambits, card games, fishing, sparrow racing, public events, exploration, because everything is naturally offered and encouraged while you play. In Destiny 2, I just stay in orbit spamming two activities ad nauseam. No exploration, no patrols, no raids, no strikes, no PvP, no gambit, nothing.I still don't understand how Bungie got this reputation as live service geniuses among players and the industry.

I miss red war even if was a shit campaign in many ways. For Rising, I overinvested into the Huckleberry because Jolder/Nei Fang were some of my first exotic and 5* so I figured they'd be able to drag each other up through the medals. I wasn't wrong but Jolder is pretty weak for a 5* and the Huckle isn't helping, and I also have 2xExotic crossbow for Nei now I can build into. How long does it take to readjust / redirect building a character due to all the resources, about a week I'd assume between getting the catalyst+yellow legendary liquid thing for weekly resets, then a bit more for exotic mods on the new mythic.For D2, I kinda want to go through all the raids one more time but literally never had a fun fireteam, because like hell would I be able to sell friends on this shit (not that I even want too), where can I even find people on this game still raiding that aren't socially inept?
