Bizhawk 2.11 just released a couple days ago, and it includes support for DOSBox-X and DSDA-Doom.https://github.com/TASEmulators/BizHawk/releases
Fuck, where's Ciggy when you need him?
>>540313036>That'll do Pig. That'll do.
When I plug my controller into Dolphin, it shows up as two entries: evdev and SDL. What is the difference between them?
>>540313745evdev's for Loonix. SDL is multiplatform and natively supports Dualshock/Dualsense. If you're on Loonix, you'll want to use SDL since it has LED light/gryo compatibility.
>>540314868However, if you're on Winblows, go the DS4Windows (schmaldeo fork) + HIDHide route. It'll save you a lot of headache when some emus read your controller as two.
>>540315609Additionally, you can set a 'permanent' controller. Why would you do this? You can start controllers mid-session in games/emus that won't detect it otherwise, and if your gamepad shuts down mid-session it won't cause problems like it can in some games.
>>540316445You're a lifesaver! I've always found it annoying when Mesen didn't recognize my DS4 after being unplugged mid-session.
Does anybody here play any emulators on their hacked Switch? I'm curious what's the most powerful console it can emulate? Dreamcast?
>>540317879I went up to N64 in 'sharts when I tried it last time. Dreamcast makes sense, but I can't vouch. Gyro (WarioWare Twisted) justwerx in GBA with all the Switch controllers with gyro in them.
Looks like PPSSPP works okay and you can get away with some GameCube games in Dolphin if you underclock the guest/overclock the host. Sounds very case-by-case.
>>540323206>checks the groomcord and githubNope, not yet. Is this really your favorite game? What makes it so special?
Check out my high score! Am I a hardcore gamer?
>>540323512that i never played it
>>540324872Kind of, if that's legitimate! You'd have to avoid a lot of stuff.
>>540325501If you want to go even lower, you have to do some insane TAS-level precision. (Which I am NOT Autistic enough to do.)
The Super Mario Remastered thingy allows you to play those Hudsonsoft jap computer Mario games with proper scrolling. Dumb, but neat.
>>540326664NGL, I prefer the 35th Anniversary hack since it's more faithful to the OG game's physics. (As opposed to being a recreation.)https://archive.org/details/smb-special-35th-anniversary-v-1.3Although, SMB1R does seem like an appealing option for SMBDX content due to the extra screen real estate.
>>540327618I was just thinking it SMBDX would be a good fit for it, AND I was wondering if there was an actual NES port/hack of Special. Thanks for being on the same page.
I do appreciate it how it commits to the bit with Special's Hotdog Stand-ass palette.
Dang, shots fired at esoooooooterica.
>>540335002KEK, I never expected a good take from mamehaze.
>>540335142More like SEO-terica, M I RITE? I actually don't mind his channel for release reminders now and then but lordy he reiterates to the point of hypnosis and he slopmaxxes for sure.
>>540335731>he slopmaxxes for sure.No kidding, I believe that's what got him banned from Reddit. (Supposedly he kept spamming his videos all across various subreddits.)
>>540312903He'll be back. I give the guy crap, some of it's deserved, but he has really gotten me thinking about true edge cases now and then. It's wild to see some things only work in emulators you'd normally consider crap, or even something like a MiSTer winning out.

Ever wonder why SMB1R requires a SMB1 ROM? Picrel is why. (Green blotches are assets the ROM uses.) Considering everything else that isn't from the ROM itself looks like it came straight out of Maker, I have no idea if this project will get past DMCA.
>>540345727>Ever wonder why SMB1R requires a SMB1 ROM?No.It's obviously a half-assded C&D or DMCA countermeasure.
