Perhaps related, but I've also noticed the bomblet spread being lackluster after blasting shielded harvesters. Blasting unshielded harvesters has more consistently been providing good results for me. There might be some jank involved with ABRL/NEAT bomblets when shooting into energy shields. Perhaps a random percentage of the bomblets are detonating against the shield instead of dropping down to the ground? One of these nights I need to test to see if popping the UFO's energy shield first will make the NEAT shots more consistent in their downward dispersal pattern. I'm not sure how strong the warpship shield is, but if it's the same shield as the landed warp ship there should be plenty of time to pop it with an eruptor shot and ~4-5 talon shots before swapping to the NEAT. Curse the swedes and their retarded tube extension fire delay that they copy-pasted to a weapon whose tube doesn't extend.In the meantime, I feel like the UFO shot is only worth attempting if you can't score a direct hit on the drop.
