BumbleKast was huge grift and I'm glad it died. Ian was using it to develop a cult of personality by crafting a narrative that he was an auteur who would "save" Sonic. He preys on low information dipshits that have no idea how long-running multimedia franchises work and have some vague anti-corporate grievance mindset (redditors) and think Ian is "one of us", as if Iizuka, the grandfather of modern Sonic, or any of the other creatives working on the franchise doesn't care or doesn't know better than him. He crashed and burned because he constantly revealed he doesn't know shit about the lore, he constantly inserted his archieisms, he doesn't have any actual power over the lore, stories, or characterization, his dialog is cringe and OOC, and everyone realizes he's a petulant narcissist that never accepts blame or criticism and throws a fucking tantrum when he doesn't get his way. Sonic is in a good place now and this narrative collapsed; he's a mere script writer and freelancer and he needs to shut up and write. None of the places or zones that IDW visits is linked with one another. For all intents and purposes IDW exists within flat world with backgrounds of architecture and foilage. Even IF I wanted to pretend that Lanolin's philosophy is digestible in this franchise it doesn't matter because every big thing that has gone wrong in IDW's world is the direct result of either Eggman, the Zeti or Starline. Not Sonic. All Sonic did was react to what was going on around him to try and save everyone, even if you want to call him careless, blaming and hating Sonic for literally doing nothing but be a free spirit makes absolutely zero sense.
