>>541124893The biggest issue is your layer 1 defense. your first line of defense round 1 was DP and mash. round 2 it was mostly mashing. also many jumps. all of these options are risky.the opponent will check you with frametraps at first so become comfortable blocking longer and observing your opponent. afterwards, try to BC out it is a very safe defensive option. You should NEVER be dying with 3 crystals.It makes sense that you took extra risk since Galleon's offense forces more guesses. Still, you could have been more patient on defense.As >>541125464 said you should be more comfortable approaching from the ground by default. Especially after getting anti aired a couple times. Try to recognize when the opponent is playing reactive (i.e. waiting for jump) and take your turn back with something difficult/impossible to react to like normal poke (2M, 2U), 66L or 236H/U.Prioritize your defense.A good drill to practice defense and self discipline is to never DP unless the move is reactable so you stop guessing with it. And NEVER throw tech until the opponent throws you at least once (do not even touch your controller). Only after that can you risk a delay 2L tech or maybe a throw tech- once or twice in a round. Another decent drill is to never BC unless it is guaranteed (close 66Ls, uncancellable moves like charged Sieg 214X). You will be forced to guess more on defense and lose a lot. However, both are good for teaching patience and letting you gather information on opponents' blockstring patterns.Not saying you have to do these all the time but I find it helpful to revisit these.

If you stop dropping combos, wasting BP and learn defense you will reach master quickly. That is when you fight PLAYERS instead of only your own mistakes. People are serious when they say the game starts at master. It really should have been called “standard queue,” with everything below named “entry” or something similar. Calling it “tutorial” or “beginner” would just make people quit so I'm avoiding those words lmao.Now, about that fucking chart:- 500 gems is not much.- Since “master” just means people are not just mashing anymore and just have a base understanding of the game, matchups do not matter much.- Knowledge check and oppressive neutral characters dominate until opponents learn counterplay. This game does not have 7:3 matchups.- Difficult characters drop off, but at higher levels execution is consistent, so difficulty stops being a factor yet it does influence the chart.- Popularity matters. There will be more waifushitters mashing on Narmaya, than Uno players.
