Most of these discussions wouldn't happen if IDW didn't have a weird focus on vulnerability and flaws. Sonic is supposed to be awesome mccool guy. There's many "ooc" versions of him but they don't get much heat because they are all some version of that. The only thing truly hated in a lot of those is the attempts to make him a romantic guy. If anything IDW should be praised for not making that colossal error which AOSTH, Satam, Boom and Archie all make.
