You absolutely need to download addons. You NEED to used Windower (or Ashita) to play the game. You think you can just push a button and something will happen? Fuck no. You have to macro anything you ever want to do. Literally anything you do in the game is a chore. What would take 10 minutes in XIV might take 1-2 hours in XI. You have to walk (or mount) EVERYWHERE. Seriously, if you're just doing the MSQ, a good 80% of your time is going to be spent running around the map on your mount or running through a dungeon on foot. Nothing about the game is friendly to the player at all. Still, it's kinda fun. I don't regret it. I do NOT recommend it by any means. It is NOT for the faint of heart. But if you're still interested, then go for it.
