Some of us here exaggerate what he says, but he's much more specific during his talks. There are no hard "NGMI" genres, but gamedev is already hard enough, and you're only making things harder on yourself when you choose a hard oversaturated genre. I don't think he gets everything right either. Before I ever even watched any of his talks, I came up with "average playtime theory" and we had lots of debates about $1=1hr and whatnot. After looking deeper into his genre theory, I tend to agree and have since merged those two theories together.

NTA, but it's not a language problem with Unreal. It is a convention problem. Unreal made a lot of really stupid decisions decades ago with things like naming and ordering and stuck with them ever since while the rest of the world diverged into better conventions. e.g., even though Godot is also a C++ engine, it's way closer to Unity in terms of naming convention and workflow.

I realized I need to make the player butler shota model.

Basically make the player avatar, and have a basic strong slash with a sword, and then a 3 hit autocombo with a knife, a roll to dash and avoid damage, and a small shield tied to his wrist.

Need that, and have basically a level to kill critters.

Then have like a final room where a maid is captured by a stronger minion.

audio design is so separate from visual fields and game feel. it takes specialized training which I don't have. Ask a non artist to describe why the mona lisa is good and he;ll just tell you it's pretty.

an easy way to do it is by using the steam api to store the data without using your own servers
you can also display this score board in game, with a filter to only compare against friends
another classic is to make a 'daily challange' with a set seed that players can compete over score each day
You may think score is a dead motivator, but some games will use it as the primary driver still, like Kill Knight and Devil Daggers. That said, you may want to include a meta progression alongside the score, or I see a lot of game do that.
