Fire rate mode will affect recoil for all firing modes, not just automatic even if the ROF difference doesnt matter on the other two. Volley fires seven rounds at once doing roughly the same damage as the break action shotgun with a bit of a tighter spread. The spread and damage are decent enough to use this mode as either a full choke shotgun or marksman rifle. Its better for mediums as most chaff are tuned to be one shot headshot by the peacemaker anyway and that's retained here. Total fires every round left in the mag. You use it to pop heavy bug asses. It knocks you back and breaks your arm if youre not prone before you fire with over a certain amount of ammo.My suggestions>keep it in volley or auto depending on your other two weapons, and only using total if youre out of ammo for whatever you're using to kill heavies in clutch momentsOR>use supply pack, medic armor, experimental infusion and only use total

Medium pen makes it really good on squids with the Stalwart as a backup/utility weapon. Spread and damage are good enough to take out stingrays and harvesters if you can get directly underneath or behind them.
