Before it, plotge didn't really have emphasis on heroines having full scale routes, at best you got something like Shizuku where heroines had routes, but were not really connected, at worst you had linear story where MC fucks women and maybe some of them have personal short epilogue. YU-NO story structure became staple of plotge, it allowed heroines and routes to be meaningful part of the story.
