I've come back to the game after like a year, didn't realize they added prestige stuff. What's the quickest way to grind and level up as fast as possible. I don't mind cheating or doing the literal most unfun way to grind, leveling up is painful and I just want to skip through it so I can actually play the game asap

I think what you describe is still viable, albeit a bit outdated. These days you just replace EAC and game's exe and that's it. Funnily enough this speeds up process of starting the game because EAC doesn't need to run.

Long story short, every value you edit (i.e. requisition points) will not revert when you change modded files back to originals, because the values themselves are not server-sided. So if you change your accolades to 4000, for instance, and the cap is 2000, they won't drop to the capped value after restarting the game using regular files, however if you play any op and get rewarded with req points *then* you'll see the value drop to its cap, since their status is "refreshed".

Basically, you could, in theory, have 20k accolades and technically never have to play stratagems again. With that in mind if you spend, let's say, 500 points, this would result in 19 500 accolades on your side. And so on. This is the case with armory points and the new blue doritos (I keep forgetting what they're called). Fun fact: Datavault points don't seem to have any cap to them.

Spawn really ruined Chaos for me.I used to like fighting Chaos a lot and got called a contrarian for it. They have too many move variations compared to other majoris enemies, even after playing vs them for a while they are still the most annoying enemies for me BY FAR. Spawn should have been an extremis threat imo, on tabletop their stats are more comparable to a terminator (lover save but more health) and they have a debuff aura. Should have been the same in SM2.

The mic button is right there on the controller and it's built with an LED so you immediately tell if it's on or not.
They have their own mic icon in-game that shows real time mic activity.
And it's not like gaystation's mic settings are hidden under a dozen secret menus either.

Anon, every good action game is reaction based. This is why your argument is fucking retarded. If there's no reacting to anything, the enemy isn't doing anything. Dodging and parrying have been staples of the action game genre for decades. Devil May Cry has typical dodging via Trickster and parrying via Royal Guard, Ninja Gaiden Black has dodging, blocking and abusing Ninpo i-frames. Souls games have parrying, blocking and dodging. All of these mechanics exist on the basis of reaction to enemy attacks. They don't pre-warn you two weeks before the attack happens and then you punch in the response long before it happens...

You also get unique dialogue if you miss the Hierophant with the lascannons

I would argue that Space Marines are HYPER human. They have all of the qualities of a regular person but to an extreme degree. Extreme loyalty, extreme hatred, extreme strength and speed, extreme depths of depravity, extreme nobility. Read the 30k novels and they seem like regular dudes for the very most part. The Emperor wanted to shepherd humanity into it's full potential psychically, and if Marines are anything to go by, they are a great leap ahead towards that potential that we can see in the Eldar and the Emperor. As things stand now, and I hate to sound like an Eldar when I say this, humans are far too short lived to have a long view like the Emperor. If anything, turning humanity into Astartes would have been the best option as it would allow for a greater understanding of the big picture to be held by the common folk. Humans lead short, brutal lives, and by the time they gain any sort of wisdom, they're on the way out.

Chaos spawn contrast so hardly against every other enemy in the game it feels like a dev just really liked them or something. Most other majoris feel like they have a few, easily identifiable attacks, and then there's the spawn that feel like they have an entire dark souls boss moveset. And they also have absurd spawnrates for some reason so 10+ of them spawn to deathball gank you.

Almost all of my failed chaos missions are exclusively due to massive swarms of these guys spawning. When one enemy makes up 90% of the challenge of a faction it's probably time to take another look at it.

People need to separate lethal and above from ruthless and bellow in terms of how they rate the game. The game is definitely balanced for ruthless for an enjoyable, casual experience and it isn't meant to be a sweat game.
Lethal (I'd give this one a maybe), absolute and hard are definitely just difficulties where the game's cranked to the max and everything shits on you. The game's mechanics break down entirely at this point.
And I say this as someone that can (mostly) clear the content. But I definitely don't play it when all I wanna do is chill and kill some space bugs

Every good action game has a reasonable balance between reaction and proactivity. SM2, at least as far as melee combat goes, tips the scales way too far in the former. Adrenaline surge and gun strikes being as good as they are encourage passivity as you wait for something to attack you, maybe shooting the enemy a few times to bait it out if you know what you're doing. The melee mechanics as they are don't encourage you to be proactive, which doesn't really suit the attitude or power fantasy of a Space Marine as far as I'm concerned.

The traitor legions were the legions with the closest ties to the Sons of Horus (usually) or the primarch was close to Horus. There was a twofold vector through which chaos corrupted the legions and primarchs. The brotherly bonds of the primarchs, but also the warrior lodges of the legions. The legions that got away from this were usually the legions that had the most inoculation from said vectors. Either because their primarchs weren't close to Horus, or they were incompatible or rejected the warrior lodges.
For example the Dark Angels were basically untainted by Horus' efforts due to the fact Lion wasn't close (and in fact disliked) Horus, and their own crazy esoteric orders were counter to the lodges. They did have their own internal rebellion but it was unrelated (but all rebellions end up as chaos rebellions, though that's a failure of the setting)
Sanguinus was close to Horus but not was too good to turn traitor, while the Blood Angels were secretive due to having to hide the red thirst, thus again inoculated against the lodges.
But even with all this, the only legion that by the time of the heresy was full chaos was the Word Bearers and that's because they'd already done their own internal purges. All traitor legions had loyalist elements. Heck the legions purged at Ishtvan III had a significant one even. I think the biggest loyalist elements in traitor legions were Death Guard, World Eaters and Emp's Children.

The newest Scouring book strongly hints at these loyalists as the progenitors of the popular magpies with Dorn and Girlyman angrily discussing the fate of this splinter fleet

There's one Word Bearer loyalist and he only survived after seeing the "truth" and surrendered to Girlyman, punishing himself until he was interred into a Dreadnought

AL had no defectors but in their HH book some of them purposedly attacked the Imperial Palace's weak points so that the defenders could reinforce it and gave false info to some traitor units who ended getting mowed down and/or cleaved by the defenders

Also incorrect seeing as I cleared the game with the same build I've been running since 10.0. Which is neither shield bash nor heal banner. I do run invigorating icon but I also run aoe banner and damage boost banner, as well as the prestige perk for hyper armor banner. Then I run armor of contempt + armored advance + non finisher gunstrike armor recovery.
Though honestly I was about to switch to kill on parry + shockwave on parry had I not cleared it on the run I was in.

Has anyone read The Pale King? I just finished it and I'm a little confused on the ending. Did Mortarion make the right call? I mean, it's not like the Great Crusade didn't go around stomping the shit out of tons of otherwise peaceful worlds to force them under the dominion of the Emperor. How the Hell was Galaspar any different? Mortarion kills all of the Comptrollers and all that's left is the slave population. Would the Imperium not just come in with Administratum and Tech Priests to establish a new government along with terraforming and colonization populations to get Galaspar up and running?

Like, Mortarion even brings up Konrad, but instead of giving a good rebuttal to a great point, Horus just yells "Enough!" and that's the end of it. No motherfucker, WHAT ABOUT KONRAD?! The Emperor is perfectly fine with planets being taken in through terror. Sure, they rebelled later, but that's because the whole planet was the target of the Night Lords. Here, Mortarion would obviously be seen as a savior. I think it's kind of hinted at at the end with Digger bowing to Mortarion and calling him "Lord" that they see him as a conqueror but like..... that's LITERALLY how all of this shit goes, every single time. The thing is, the slaves were kept in such a state they literally COULDN'T form any kind of insurrection or uprising. The slaves were mentally damaged, and the ending hints that they basically felt like they fell under new management..... MAYBE, because the groveling deference the slaves show at the end is the same thing you see everywhere in 40k.

Sniper uses equipment more efficiently, better at positioning, and can take out take out dangerous majoris/extremist well which is main game in highest difficulties. Getting more stim pack isn't about getting "lucky" it's draining a general crucial team resource while making the same contribution. Bulwark was already way ahead of assault before thanks to his ability to deal with situations that make assault fold while also outputting more effective damage. I do whenever I'm not assault and I'm cornered or swimming in nids. Otherwise it's really nice being able to jump over fences and clear a lot of terrain from cliffs and slopes really fast. In terms of a proactive melee class, tactical's second to assault, but by a huge margin.

Just for ordeals. And the ordeal rewards are mostly shitty anyway.
The only one really worth a damn are the gauntlets, and you can easily get enough for those by just doing pve content.
If you like ultramarines and want the breastplate, you can get nearly fifty research points by just playing pvp enough. You have to win for some, but every lobby's one sided, so just roll a new one on different modes until you land on the good team and get carried.

That being said, the campaign is kinda worth doing.
It has far less features and mechanics than pve, but it's missing all the terrible shit they've added to pve over the last year as well.
It's actually an extremely solid and smooth experience compared to pve content just because the enemy spawns are stagnant.
It has the strongest version of the jump pack also.
