Krile is probably god tier, assuming she has a way to reliably accrue Brave so that she can give it to the other 2 teammates. Zidane might also be good since he steals Brave. Prompto might be good too because he can paralyze people at range. Everyone else just seems like different flavors of damage. Once you get a more comfortable understanding of damage types (+ your inevitable anti-ghost weapon) and buffs, it's considerably more straightforward than you might expect. Despite the menu usage being overbearing, I'd suggest regiving it a try, there's certainly not a lot of games like it.

Feels like there's a 50/50 split on YouTube when it comes to the reception of Rebirth's story and execution as a remake. The one thing that seems unanimous is the enjoyment of the main gameplay during combat. Though I'll be honest, I don't have much motivation to watch the videos leaning positive. It already got a Metacritic over 90 and a GOTY nomination, so I'm kinda full when it comes to seeing its praises. Me? I guess I'm neutral. I'm two games in, and may as well see how it ends for myself.
