Elytra nerf idea: The Elytra is given a cooldown bar which reduces slowly when gliding but using rockets dramatically accelerates it, when it maxes out the cooldown bar the player must wait a minute? (not sure how long), or sleep, or maybe it could be linked to the hunger bar.My main issue with the elytra is that it disencentives building infrastructure for long distance travel, the smaller scale movement with it is fine, so I think it would be best to nerf long distance travel for it.

I've decided to cheat and summon villagers into the big iron farm I made, this is probably the 50th time I've ever built one and I'm fucking sick and tired of making them. This is the only time I'll cheat, I just cannot be bothered breeding and hauling around villagers even with the boats and leads update. I just want my supply of free iron already but at a steady pace

Then when I saw the guys (in the one that I watched) come across a dried ghast it made me realise that getting one in a world like this would actually be fun and interesting. And then it dawned on me. Modern Minecraft really doesn't incentivise you to use any of its new mechanics besides what was in the beta version from fucking 2011. Why? It would be so easy to create biomes or dimensions or whatever to actually make use of all the new features, but they just don't. So annoying.

Iron blocks are like steel beams, add concrete and glass and you get modern architecture
>>544330525Don't mind me, I was just being an idiot. I forgot the nether has a lower ceiling. The point is, nether portals connect to the closest portal in the other dimension. Y-121 is only 51 blocks from Y-70, but 169 blocks from Y-290, so it will always connect to the portal at Y-70. You'll have to use portals above the bedrock ceiling, place them further apart, or dive into the nitty-gritty of portal linking to figure out a solution, I'm afraid
