Having finished unleashed recomp, as much as I'll hold on to my memories of loving this game so much and still enjoyed this replay, I can see why ign gave it the score it did. The fucking physics are way off and the most frustrating thing to fight in the game. Any little misstep makes me fly off a ledge. And yea some of the dlc stages are perfect and free of the frustrating bs from the main game. Wonder why the whole game isn't like that...

Dr Finitevus was easily by a mile one of both the best original villains and echidna characters in the Archie run with motivations that made sense for someone who saw all the Echidna's insane bullshit and it's consequences. They really got a lot of fun milage from his mastery of negative chaos energy and especially with his warp rings being used as a defensive and offensive tool. I'm not sure how true this is but apparently he was gonna take focus as the arc villain after the Mecha Sally arc wrapped up. One of my fave villains from the Archie run was Ixis Naugus since they perfectly executed his magic and elemental abilities, gave him a delightfully nasty personality and he nicely contrasted Sonic and Dr Eggman while having a crazy yet interesting origin.
