See the thing is, the characters first ever appearance was in sonic 06 th most buggy and unfinished sonic game there was at the time. With a half baked story and really buggy bossfights. One is that the IDW comics lack a wide rogues gallery with unique and crazy abilities that make the heroes have to pull out all the stops. With Surge being to utterly humiliated in fight scenes to be credible as a threat despite her electric powers and Mimic's shapeshifting not used enough to have him pull crazy techniques or they also could've let him use squid ink either as a blinding or binding tool in combat.

The one major thing I don't like is the idea that Pachamac was trying to harness the Master Emerald for what could be read as a defensive, I prefer that it was him and the echidna people paying for being greedy and arrogant in their hopes of conquering ambition. It's a game I've got very mixed feelings and thoughts on but it's just surreal to have a Sonic game that's hard non canon and not just in the it's an alternate continuity way.
