Something that I am a little concerned about. Allow me to vent.The Classic playtesters had all their skills maxed by an NPC for testing/showcase purposes, so obviously they wouldn't notice this even if they were looking for it, but players realistically aren't going to have all their skills maxed.For example, to max all of a Cleric's 2nd job skills requires 140 SP. From 30 to 70 they only accumulate 121 SP. That means something has to give, and in the past it was almost always Holy Arrow because the entire rest of their kit was significantly more useful. Heal and MP Eater both let them mob, support, and infinitely sustain themselves. Teleport for mobility. Invincible for reducing incoming damage. Bless to help the Warriors they eventually party with later on. Holy Arrow, no matter how strong it was made, has no room for itself, and making it stronger does not fix this issue (especially since Shining Ray outclassed it with just 1 SP). The nerfs to bring everything in line doesn't seem like it fixes anything either, because at the end of the day you're still not maxing every skill, so the least useful - that being the purely damaging attack (on a class that's more known for support) is going to be dumped.Another example are 1st job Warriors. They only get 61 SP to spend before 2nd job. Power Strike and Slash Blast eat up 40 by themselves. 15 by HP Increase, leaving 6 remaining. Precise Strikes is nice, but it costs 15 SP to max. And if there's prerequests for any of these, ho boy...This isn't a bad thing on paper, it just makes me a bit anxious going into it. Unless they modify the SP gains per level, players are going to end up being forced to skip some very valuable skills, something that modern MS (usually) doesn't have to deal with on the majority of their classes. The skills are being reworked using modern design philosophies, but aren't giving the SP to work with all of them.

well it was a fun play style, like all of nothing, you either do no damage or carefully set up and detonate a huge explosion after binding the boss in explosive chains and charms and throwing a kunai with an explosive charm on it to set it off then run in and slice the corpse up with a few quick wakizashi slices..now it's so ass it's like my two 15 second cooldown skills that are m1 lvl 30 do the same damage as the mini burst, the 2 min burst sucks, and you basically only do damage during origin only now
also on thanatos descent the one that plays piano music they put all the power into the gate of babylon spears instead of the 2nd activation nuke that covers the screen in hellfire
so the visual effect doesn't translate to what is going on screen anymore, you just have to stand and dpm to summon the spears now when they were the little extra bit of damage before and just cool visually, now the spears are the ones chonking and it's like a dumb design decision because it doesn't feel that way in game and changes the play style from a 3min mindset to a 1min burst like it's angelic buster or something

From that showcase it seems the devs don't know what to do with it and are waiting for player feedback, but, since the community is split on classic they don't know what they want either. So we are in a kind of stale mate where it can go very bad very fast or it can actually become the greatest thing ever if everyone just reaches a consensus on what they want from classic. Right now it's being piloted mainly by people who never played Pre-big bang beyond kpq/lpq, and I fear that may become a hindrance to the overall quality of classic.

So instead of osrs vibes im getting a lot of wow classic vibes (it's a bad thing). One thing WoW classic changed over vanilla was that mobs always had a 5% chance to miss/dodge/parry/block an attack, each being a separate category in its own, meaning for every melee hit, there was a 25% chance of doing no damage. That was gone in wow classic because wow classic was on the nu-wow engine. So this seems to be the case for maple classic as well, since it's on nu-maple engine, it'll be like a v95 big bang private server trying to remodel the whole game into classic exp/HP/ values to make it more grindy and do away with the big bang exp curve.

It got imported a few patches before pirates, and got removed after pirates.
