Their characters in my project are the Shadow and Silver ones, though there's obviously a degree of separation there. Shadow is INTJ, that's the Batman personality. But Eclipse is ENTP, that's the Joker personality. He does like very serious characters like Shadow, and he created his character to be Shadow-like in personality more or less. But IRL, he is very much a trickster archetype with ADHD and antisocial tendencies while also being extremely charismatic. But he really likes to slander people, and roast you and cut you down and assert himself as superior, that's how he interacts with friends. If I say anything positive about Energy, 'cause Energy is cool, Eclipse is always the first to make fun of me for doing so. As if thinking positively about someone is a crime. He's a "Debater", he likes to argue and challenge any idea, and play devil's advocate. Violet might be an ENTP as well, considering how she played "Devil's Advocate" about Amy a while back just to be inflammatory or whatever. Cosmix is INTP, so he's just like Eclipse but with less social charisma, less empathy, and more introverted thinking and logic. Also possibly even worse ADHD that hasn't been diagnosed. My friends and I once took an autism test, and when I got very low scores that said I didn't have autism, Cosmix got EXTREMELY personally upset about it because he scored the highest, and can't accept the fact that I scored so low. Meanwhile, Eclipse just started using "neurotypical" or "normie" as an insult but otherwise doesn't care. Energy is ENFP, so he's a lot different from both. But in many ways, he's a lot like Eclipse, but with much more compassion and stuff. In a way that just feels like Eclipse is literally just 'Dark Energy" IRL, and me saying that is why Eclipse isn't a Shadow or Sonic fan anymore.

Tails, Amy and Knuckles all correspond with that idea in different ways, and so in my head it all connects together in this giant spider-web painting an image of this concept. But this also means that when my friends are all brainstorming new ideas, it's hard for me to keep up. On the other hand, I'm the one constantly working on this project for years straight, while they're always jumping to new ideas without properly building on the old ones. Energy and Eclipse both have their own characters and stuff they've stuck to for years, with Energy's being a backbone of my project while Eclipse moved on to his own thing with new characters. But, Energy's ideas are always just ideas in his head, I'm the one who writes it down and builds it into something tangible. And Eclipse has changed directions radically countless times, just because he can. So sometimes, we need each other to make all our stuff become reality.

If Tails wasn't following Sonic around, he would not even BE in the games. Tails followed Sonic to Eggman's Interstellar Amusement Park. After being saved, Tails follows Sonic throughout White Space. This is shown in cutscenes, despite not being reflected in gameplay. Tails is with Sonic throughout all of Lost World in every zone until he's kidnapped. Tails follows Classic Sonic throughout Sonic Forces, even though he's not playable. And in Sonic Frontiers, Tails complains to Sonic about how "you're always rescuing me, but all I do is follow you around". The problem with Tails in the Meta Era is that he regressed in his sidekick role, not that he lost it entirely. He is still treated like a Sidekick, but a "lesser" one than even his classic incarnation, where he's always there, he's always following Sonic, but isn't allowed to actually DO anything because only Sonic can be the action hero.
