I think Digimon being manifestations of human imagination and ideals is the better explanation. It explains why Digimon and their evolutions are so heavily influenced by humans. I hope Gekkomon only evolves by the end of the season, episodes and 10~12.I finally watched episodes 3&4 as I was saving them and I'm not ready to see the little lizard go away and become an Adult Shinka merchant for every battle as is typical in Digimon shows once they unlock evolution, I really dig his original combat style and how it reminds me of Gash Bell or something, the little energetic critter fighting against big enemies is fun. I've been waiting for next order to go on sale on Steam, but I doubt it will before Christmas. Time Stranger looks good, denuvo aside, but it's obviously a different feel from the other two. How tedious are re:digitize and next order? Is leveling up and digivolving digimon in Time Stranger a bit less grindy than in Cyber Sleuth?
