If the way you play means you're getting ganked by murderhobos consistently, just run a heavy shield. If they get a ferro, yes, they'll do some damage but then you push them and kill them. If they spawned with anything else, you just win in the head to head. Heavy shields against freekits are prime

"I have to trust them with my life", there's a grey area where you can distrust them and be ready to kill them but also keep them at a healthy distance without killing them I think that psychology is sort of why the game's fun, because it's so natural to us humans in a social setting. It's all game theory. ARC are like wild animals, you know they're going to try to kill you 100% of the time, but raiders are fellow humans and you can sometimes benefit by walking that sigma line between the alpha (kills everyone) and beta (trusts everyone)
