Non-F2P want to focus on flames AND friendship gauge early on so they can get good double/triple rainbows that are worth taking (since the cards are good) and hope they stack with bursts for big gains which get you ahead so you can invest in luxury stats instead.You only get to do ~2 optional races before you end up likely bricking your run, you can get away with more I'm sure but that depends on if your future turns have good flames/rainbows.

I've been consistently getting high roll URA stats in Unity so I don't get what the problem is.Just raise friendship and unity training into rainbows and bursts and you'll do fine.Riko dates and wit training is your friend if you don't see either for a turn or two. Riko dates give like 25 stamina so they're meant to be a stop gap in between turns when you don't see good RNG.
