It is tied to weapon attribute atk slash/spike/smash, weapons have one out of the three, it is different from the DOT elemental bonus effect from character which deal damage, the attribute amplifies the weapon dealt damage to their specific target, spike is health damage, slash is shield damage, smash is stance damage.
