Free kits need to be visually discernable (unique skin) and need to ALWAYS spawn late into raids. These are two things Tarkov got right, a player with gear to lose should be able to tell they're dealing with a free kitter, and players who actually use their gear should get first dibs on the best loot on the map. Free kitters spawning at the start of raids makes them too good, you risk nothing and can just run around looting the best places

Freekits aren't the problem, although I think they should be tuned a bit since they aren't risking a thing. The problem is the horrid balance. Make shields useful, nerf grey guns into the dirt, nerf arc weak points to accommodate the grey gun nerf (people are 1 tapping them already right now so it's not a big deal), nerf green guns a little, nerf venator bigly, nerf fire rate across the board, and buff purple guns to actually feel imposing. Right now the only purple gun worth using is Vulcano (and Hullcracker), which loses to double pump exploiting Toros. Bobcat is literally worse than the Stitcher, even if they are both upgraded and both have the same attachments. Ferro shouldn't even be allowed to be grey, it should be blue at least, it's better than the Osprey.

Went into a night raid with my duo bro, made it to dam control tower key room in 2 minutes because we got the control tower basement spawn, brought 6 barricades and hit every door on the way up and one blocking the door to the key room itself. 3 teams ended up fighting in the hallway outside the key room at the top, and the duo that survived sounded like 12 year old squeakers using our barricades as a way to keep us locked in, we waited 16 minutes for them to leave before realizing they weren't going to leave, worse yet they wouldn't stop fucking talking. Enter Vulcano iv, had my duo bring down the barricade at the door and lob some 15 impact grenades into the hallway while I bum rushed these fuckin dorks and blasted them. Guess they didn't realize the room was packed with grenades or something, and the minute I downed them both I get a big "woooow you guys suck and had to use a shotgun to kill us" while I brought the hand of justice swiftly upon them. 6 dead guys worth of loot plus the whole loot room and an ex exfill because most of the raiders were already out by the 5 minute mark. First time I've exfilled with 8 guns, too bad 3 of them were just arpeggios. While I think the resources and inventory space used on a key absolutely justify the mitigation of risk, I think having a couple hatches open at night will make campers have to choose what to camp. If I'm taking the risk looting everything they should at least have to risk camping the wrong exit and it makes it even more important for both sides to appropriately recon the area. These all out firefights at the extract sites with people who have nothing to reward me for killing them aren't fun especially when it happens almost every time.
