>>547306762You should unless it's like Road trip or City Trial, for example if you go with Wing Star it's basically dead weight on the ground but even the slightest ramp puts you borderline on even with how a normal warpstar and base Wheelie would travel.Air is basically the only time you aren't being deliberately slowed so your playing with a bit of a handicap unless you find the jumps or falling points to fly. Even if you were to invest tons into top speed in something like road trip, Wingstar will still be fairly slow on the ground by design but taking off even once will mean you basically just win, even in top ride that air stat just means suddely you are no longer playing the same game as everyone else and can just skip any obstacles too
OK, I finished Road Trip 100% after getting the game in the mail at 1pm, did it first thing because I didn't want spoilers, I swore off of /kdg/, /v/ and browsing YouTube for like three days to dodge themHere's my review so far:>Don't bother with Super Hard at all, it's fucking cock and ball torture, no Checklist achievements are locked behind it, and it just makes the game a slog to play. So many routes are just essentially "do you have a flight/offense/speed/turning machine", etc. checks and being unable to easily switch machines per route due to the lack of retries makes it agonizing. I wasted like two hours on it before realizing it's stupid>I had to start a new run solely for one checklist achievement, the "getting a certain height in High Jump one". It took until Stage 6 for me to actually find a High Jump route>Road Trip feels quite padded, I'd say it should've probably been like 75% of the length it is now, you see so much of the same events, just with different modifiers. It's like World of Light, Smash 3DS Classic Mode and the original Air Ride had a baby>This game desperately needed more alts. So many characters only having one extra one in a game where you can have 16 players at once just seems like such an obvious misstep>Likewise I feel like the headwear selection is a bit limited too, feels like there should be 3 times the amount of it>I still firmly believe Sakurai is extremely biased towards his output in the Kirby series, this game just revealed that it also extends to stuff made during his tenure as a series director, not just the games he directed and that's a good thing, actually>Mr. Frosty should've been in, simple asI get the hunch the game was a little rushed. maybe needed like half a year more or so. Sakurai has complained several times about how hard it is to make games specifically with this game so I don't think development was totally smooth sailing.The cutscenes went hard as hell, though.

My personal headcanon is that while Magolor had an actual redemption arc shown (and most other old kirby villains have a reason for sticking around or having a change of art like Taranza and Susie) Marx straight up never did really change since he's constantly depicted both in official art and in every appearence he's made since Superstar as an active public menace and crazy ass. Kirby and crew just decide to keep him around cause he barely really harms anyone and probably just doesn't turn on them since he got his ass kicked by Kirby last time so he wouldn't get any ideas

Beat Road Trip on Normal to get a proper taste of the game, very fun, 0/10 game though I didn't even get fucking Elfilin as a consolation prize god dammit. I play it up even if I'm genuinely a bit mad about that, but the game's still really great. I'll cope about the lack of Elfilis/n through My Machine at least, it's just... man... Genuinely feel like a moron for having been hopeful now... I know Sakurai said "no DLC" but I really do pray they'll at least do an update for the missing Dream Friends+Elfilin later down the line if the game does very well, it... genuinely does sting a bit. >>547373889The issue is aiming. The aim is relative directly to the facing direction of your ride. Meaning you need to purposely look at where you want it to hook. Meaning if you wanted to hook an inside corner you'd need to turn into it to land the web, then turn out a tad so you can still make it around the bend and not in the inside part. But then after that you'll find that the web's anchoring abilities are dependent on your overall turn speed. So for example you can take a Slick Star or Swerve star so that you can aim far better, but it doesn't matter as even when you web your ride still doesn't turn better and the web is useless. So I don't think its supposed to be a turn helper at all.What I think its for free jumps. If you go through an area with a low hanging roof you can web to it and get a tiny bit of air, but with glide focused ride it can be a good boost. Its kind of like Susie's heli really. There has been the odd occasion that I've done some weird skip of certain obstacles by getting really good webs on ride tracks but most of the time its all by accident. He might have some real deep tech but it feels to hard to do reliably.

Kirby pretty much wins by default due to hard counter but if it were like first day, maybe an hour of prep meta or Dragoon/Hydra character could make it happen since Metal has the edge in speed over most people on foot at least in his descriptions. Same for 02 probably hitting at least mid level counter with Void Termina being higher up. Hard to really say if Metal could take on a final kirby boss threat with even a week unless he basically got all of Dream land + one of the core heroes or Morpho.
