When he asked Maria if he was dangerous, my immediate thought was "Yes actually" and then I felt guilty straight afterwards.Maria being terminally ill was a unique aspect of her that made her more than just a generic happy girl who had lived a happy life on Earth and died painlessly.Shadow being created for Maria's illness made it so that she wasn't just his best friend, but his entire reason for existing.
