The classic games aren't very impressive beyond the first one. The introduction of the an instant speed button in Sonic 2 removed a lot of the original appeal (challenge, thoughtful use of physics) and the saddest part is that most players actually prefer it this this simplified way.

There's also the loop-de-loops in Superstars that require you to loop through them multiple times. You could get through them faster with more characters. Team efforts like this should be rewarded to encourage players to at least TRY to stay together for the most part.
