Why can't I ever finish campaigns in eu4
>>
it's the best paradox game ever
play it now before eu5 is fleshed out in dlcs and you spoil yourself (it's looking like it'll be a better game than liqqy after 10 years of dlcs)
>>
>>549148618
Are we back?
>>
yes, we're back (until the next janny ban)
>>
victoria 2 is mediocre
its worth 1 or 2 playthroughs but really it somehow manages to be both the shortest game AND completely fall apart by lategame
the game turns nearly unplayable with constant rebels if played properly, half the ideologies dont work as your economy crashes... badboy makes for a really shitty map painter... idk it's alright i guess, what's good about it over something like eu4 is the veriety of CBs you can use (like 6) that are actually useful for something other than taking land
>>
cant blob :((( game bad
>>
that's vanilla and even vanilla is less retarded by the late game than other paradox games
the economy only crashes in bad mods like hpm and hpm derivatives. mods that keep the vanilla economy are fine
and it's not the infamy system that makes blobbing unfeasible, it's the accepted culture system. if you blob outside of your accepted cultures without cores you will get The Troubles in those lands 24/7/365. yes you can take a 100% french state as germania but 30 years later half its pop will either die in pointless rebellions or migrate to EE.UU.
>>
i blobbed tho
>>
File: Screenshot (2502).png (2.39 MB, 1920x1080)
2.39 MB
2.39 MB PNG
because contrary to retards' belief, eu4 is more fun when you're the final raid boss then when you're not, it's basically goy4 lite, without the cancer rgb of course. you don't boot up eu4 expecting an emergence narrative, you boot up eu4 to map paint with the best of tools available as of now
>>
it's not that you cant blob its that blobbing is extremely tedious
restarting the game 30 times during cb fabrication so you get 0 badboy is a horrible experience but it's necessary if you want to form arabia for example
your ability to blob should be hampered by difficulties regarding administration, rebels and what have you, not by your extremely gamey badboy RNG. eu5 is pretty good at this

you'd think with all the fucking rebels in the game this would be a good spot for them but nationalist rebels are the least of your problems, they're only a problem if the nation in question only has 1 core because that means you need to have an army there permanently
>>

1.74 MB
1.74 MB PNG
>restarting the game 30 times
why the FUCK would you do this?
just ~ event 18540 at that point if you're willing to cheat
and we might have different definitions of blobbing
to me pic related is blobbing and i did it just fine within the infamy limit (was actually my first liq2 game ever). you blob even more?
>>
what's worse is that badboy from blobbing isnt much more than badboy from realistic actions like puppeting
i wanted to puppet central america as the USA (historical), every single shitty 1 province nation costs the same amount of infamy to puppet, which quickly adds up to be your limit
me wanting to be historical hampered my game significantly as i should have used that infamy to blob into asia instead

thats another thing, the ganme completleuy gives up on what to do about china and just asks you to please not invade them i guess otherwise it's completely fucked. it's even worse if you invade them as an unciv (heaven forbid you invade china as japan!)
>>
>1280x800
>>
is it historical doe?
they just influenced them a lot and stopped rebellions if those arose (radicals winning a rebellion in a sphereling where you invested give you a free puppet cb)
>>
i will never ever understand why they made it so that annexing a nation's capital state costs 22 infamy
it's absolutely fucked that to annex luxembourg or san juan or some other shitty country is more infamy than to take 2 full states off of a real nation like england
when yucatan declares independence from mexicio, youd think that would be an optimal time to invade, but no, that's illegal because to annex yucatan would be 22 infamy when indpendent but much less when mexican

yeah, in eu4 or ck2 you can pick basically anybody and know you'll have an alright time, in eu5 there's some obviously unfixed parts of the world but they'll fix them i'm sure. in vic2 there's like 15 or so tags you're "supposed" to play and everything else is just a meme

ck3 is a little complicated topic
it's not worth pirating for a single playthrough, because its current version reportedly sucks because of the lag
if you had a pirated earlier version of ck3, one that didn't really come with the asian expansion or most of the other dlc, it would be worth at least one playthrough
pirated version i have is 1.5.1, it's fun and not laggy on my pc
you very likely won't find an archive of all pirated ck3 versions, so you'd have to buy ck3 to find which version is best for you and which dlcs to get for it

you get baited with a historical setting and then the game spits on your face with shitty events and storylines that have nothing to do with and often go against history, you would have a better time closing your eyes and thinking of a medieval story yourself without any input from the game
of course redditors don't know anything about history and think everything was just like le game of thrones so this doesn't affect them. blissful ignorance.
>>
Name 3 events that have nothing to do with history
Complaining about events being random is stupid because history is random. Who the fuck was supposed to predict the rise of the Mongols or saracens? The black death definitely seemed like RNG bullshit, or all those natural disasters like earthquakes and volcanoes.
>>
If you have any paradox game on your computer it should uninstall itself and remove the game from your account if it ever detects you opening excel
>>
excel lmfao does this nigga think i'm a 50yo secretary
>>
i never relied on events because they're gay anyways
instead i savescum because i don't want cancer or inferm or any of that shit to make my stats poor
the only roleplay i want to do involves conquest goals, i don't need some intimate and detailed info on my character like whether he's a coward or he's a lustful, i just want whatever gives him more stewardship so i can control more provinces in my domain
the roleplay i care about is "look, these are the borders for my nation and its religion, and watch as it looms next to others that fight against eachother"
i treat the game like a fishtank too, where other rulers big and small are constantly fighting eachother, it's a pleasant feeling
>>
oh yea' and i also care about my character's looks and certain traits that helps influence his appearance
the dna thing in ck3 is very interesting too
>>
05
cat-apult
and the two flatulence events (there's more of them but pick two)
>>
that's fair, it all depends on your tolerance for bullshit, it's not fundamentally different from ck2 but it's still worse
as in, a few decades in you'll probably have half of europe be ruled by karling andalusian sunni nomads, that either bothers you or it doesn't
>>
oh and lastly nations collapsing because of succession is very nice too, even if it happens to me, it fits into the 'fishtank' effect where chaos is everywhere and rulers big and small are always fighting eachother
>>
what bothers me in ck3 is the economy
you build farms and uhhhh thats it youve won the economy just build a farm or two and you're good for the entire game
>>
ck3 could be fixed with a simple hip or ck2plus equivalent total overhaul mod. but modders are too busy modding elves and dragons and memeth trooned out before getting hired at paracocks
sucks. could have been a nice sisterfucking simulator
>>
Infirm is pretty bullshit desu. The reason people age like shit nowadays is because our diets are shit and we're way too sedentary, also people generally died in their 60's before you could really see their bodies plummet. I don't think a 60 year old whose diet consists of natural meat and bread and is fit enough to lead his troops into battle has the same health as some 60 year old nowadays who ate McDonald's his entire life and never did any physical activities after high school
>>
but that's how the medieval economy worked
compare that to eu5 treating peasants as dead weight meant purely for promoting into wagecuckolds
>>
>gibberish post
LMAO
>economy
i unironically have only played as persistent tribals so i don't really deal with building much
i like to stomp the filthy feudal civilization scum, which is part of my roleplay
>>
yeehaw
>>
yahweh
>>
>but that's how the medieval economy worked
i legit dont give a fuck
you build 1 building and that covers your money needs for the entire game, bad game design
>>
What's your solution? A vic2 economy in a medieval game about dynasties?
>>
yes.
>>
the only thing i remember really bothering me about ck3 is when a large kingdom/empire breaks apart into this messy randomized bordergore
i have exclaves turned off but succession still leads to an eyesore that i feel obligated to clean up through annexation of parts that my character's father used to run
>>
The only thing that bothers me in ck3 are the niggers. There's no reason for the map to go below Egypt

Never understood this event
Protestant European culture has always been working yourself to death and getting absolutely hammered afterwards to cope with it. Sure, wives got beaten, but that was just one of the costs of rapid industrialisation.
The game asks you to choose between your pops all becoming layabout Greeks or teetotalers who magically work harder.

my favourite passage in the bible is

>again they came to Jerusalem. As he was walking in the temple, the chief priests, the scribes, and the elders came to him and said, "By what authority are you doing these things? Who gave you this authority to do them?" Jesus said to them, "I will ask you one question; answer me, and I will tell you by what authority I do these things. Did the baptism of John come from heaven, or was it of human origin? Answer me." They argued with one another, "If we say, 'From heaven,' he will say, 'Why then did you not believe him?' But shall we say, 'Of human origin'?" - they were afraid of the crowd, for all regarded John as truly a prophet. So they answered Jesus, "We do not know." And Jesus said to them, "Neither will I tell you by what authority I am doing these things."

People think Jesus is outsmarting the pharsees or outdebating him but in reality he's just refusing to answer and they know they're right but they can't say it because the crowd of retards will beat them up with sticks.

unironically yes, might makes right is a foundational christian belief in every sect that subscribes to paul and his epistles, which is easly 99.9% of christians nowadays
>Let everyone be subject to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except that which God has established. The authorities that exist have been established by God.
Romans 13:1
You live in a shitalian town and the local mafia boss is shaking you down for money? GOOD. God gave him the authority to do that. Go back to work and better pick up a second and third job to pay him what he's owed you ungreatful little shit.
>>
you're really taking these excerpts out of context
you simply declare those authorities unjust and working against G-d and run your sword through them. it's that simple
but keep in mind that there are much worse authorities than a mafia which provides a protection for their services and does not target civilians in their violence, as evidenced by the current zog

fundamentally, nietzsche was right about christianity
the only true christian was jesus himself, everything afterwards disregards 99% of the ethics and the religion became about wretched people feeling good about their poor material conditions

yes, there is no authority but the authority that comes from iesus, that is all powers that claim to be authority yet do not come from christos are not actual authority and you don't have to care about them

depends
>yes, there is no authority but the authority that comes from iesus, that is all powers that claim to be authority yet do not come from christos are not actual authority and you don't have to care about them
the roman empire was an example of authority that came from god
since god allowed their reign to flourish, their authority was the fruit of it
if you defy them and they kill you, it's because you were in the wrong and god willed it, silly little anarchist
moral of the story is, whatever happens, god wills it

The reason the Mongol Empire was so strong was that they were a nomadic people, and they used the mobility of their horses to continue attacking when they looked like they were winning on the battlefield, and retreating when they looked like they were losing, using a hit-and-run tactic.
The Mongol Empire did not massacre countries that accepted their surrender, but they thoroughly massacred countries that refused to surrender.
Apparently, the king of a Middle Eastern country was executed by having molten silver poured through his ears after refusing to accept the Mongol Empire's surrender.
People of the Middle East, Eastern Slavs, and Central Asians probably have some Mongol blood in them. Western Europeans today do not look like Central Asians because of the bravery of Polish knights.

in the Book of Job thats exactly what happens god kills job's wife and kids and then gives him a new wife and new kids, he and we as the audience are supposed to believe that to be a happy ending since now he has more kids than he started with
Surrendering your wife to the Mongols is reasonable assuming you think yourself capable of finding another one.
Moreover, if the Mongols are definitely victorious, you are Commanded to submit to their rule and authority (romans 13:1) meaning you Have to follow their law and do what the say
If you're a Christian you ought to give them your wife in this case, the scripture is very clear.
>>
what if the mongols tell you to stop being christian tho
>>
>muh Bible
Protestant-style bible worship is bordering on idolary, you can't properly interpret what they mean without Christian tradition going back to Peter, That is why you shouldn't quote in in public like you just did and should instead contact a Catholic priest and ask for interpretation instead.
The catechism of the church clearly warns against the sin of empathy or the misguide of pacifism. Christians ought to fight to defend chrisendom and soldiers who die in battle do not go to purgatory but straight to heaven. A Christian would fight to the last man.

today, terminal diseases (cancer, etc.) exist even among believers, so this could be interpreted as a manifestation of god opening an opportunity for you to die and return to him
the mongol scenario has nothing to do with that

neither i nor anyone else knows the specifics/situations of every single individual that fell to the mongol invasion

actually smart and correct wtf
an astute observation, eu4 had the exact same problem where for a patch meant to make the game more difficult, they actually made it so that the ai will not build manufacturies, because if they did the Player conquering them would become more powerful than if they weren't there, and it made player vassals too powerful. they removed this "feature" due to player feedback, but they kept the "feature" where subjects will almost never develop
>>
sorry, even my imagination has its limits. i have no clue how you'd manage to fuck anyone with a dick that small
>>
but if the ai develops their nation more it'd be harder for the player to conquer
>>
same in eu5 and yet they made it so that AI makes buildings at random explain that
>>
>BURF THE PLAYER BECAUSE A4 ANY POINT THE PLAUER CONTROLS LILE 15 AIS OTHER THAN AT GAME START
what did he mean by this?
is he saying that buffing the ai would buff the player because a player controls a subject or two that he will immediately wants to annex because he can't control the ai troops? even in liqqy with its great ai courtesy of krimmod puppets don't make you overpowered, even though in that game you can control their troops directly, because the enemy ai is competent and enemy gps will always be more powerful than any puppet
>>
>explain that
it's because they styled the game too much after vicky 2
in vicky 2 laissez faire capitalism works because unprofitable factories get shut down and eventually deleted, so a free market economy is a constant state of survival of the fittest. meanwhile in eu5 buildings very rarely get deleted and in fact sometimes you need to build buildings that are unprofitable like scriptoriae
>>
>the mongol scenario has nothing to do with that
The scenario is that you lose your wife because God has willed it so
How does job react when he gets a new wife? He's happy, that's a happy ending.
The moral? If you lose a wife, get a new one and be happy that you got a new wife.
There is ZERO reminiscence or nostalgia or anything from Job about his previous wife at the end of the story because he doesn't give a shit and you shouldn't either. If you think youre capable of getting a new wife, you can get rid of the old one if God willed it.
What does dying during conflict have anything to do with anything?
If:
1) the Mongols are an authority in your area
2) they by law demand your wife
God has given them the authority to take your wife and you have no right to refuse.
>Therefore what God has joined together, let no one separate.
Obviously God is all powerful and he alone has the power to separate people, and he does so via the people he has given authority to do so.

I think you're both wrong
You should give up your wife as per Romans 13, and the wife should likewise submit freely, but this does not mean you are divoeced, so you should remain chaste until your wife dies. If you don't know if she dies or not, you should remain chaste just to be sure
>>
i can't read that so it's prettry unclear
>>
the verse is clear that there's no there is no authority but the authority that comes from G-d, id est all powers that claim to be authority but don't come from G-d are not actually real authority and you're free to disregard them and create your own authority that comes from G-d
simple as
>>

does it involve wearing a cage or not?
>>
>>the mongol scenario has nothing to do with that
yes
mongols invading your land and raping your wife is a different scenario from your wife dying from a disease
god allowed it, but as i stated before, i speculate that anyone who was literally cucked by the evil mongols was not right with god

>How does job react when he gets a new wife? He's happy, that's a happy ending.
>The moral? If you lose a wife, get a new one and be happy that you got a new wife.
yes, he got one who didn't blaspheme against god
>There is ZERO reminiscence or nostalgia or anything from Job about his previous wife at the end of the story because he doesn't give a shit and you shouldn't either. If you think youre capable of getting a new wife, you can get rid of the old one if God willed it.
>There is ZERO reminiscence or nostalgia or anything from Job about his previous wife at the end of the story
and the story itself is just a focused lens, it's not an elaborate documentary that covers job's feelings about his wife
but actually it seems you're mistaken about his wife, she did not actually die
anyways
>What does dying during conflict have anything to do with anything?
>If:
>1) the Mongols are an authority in your area
>2) they by law demand your wife

romans 13:1 only holds true when the authority is not in opposition to God. when its in opposition to God you must follow God instead and accept the consequences.

the mongols were only instrumental in a passive sense, and their reign wasn't even that long btw which goes to show you how in favor with god they were
he allowed them to band together and rise up as a big power but then allowed them to collapse instead of trying to have them enlighten themselves with ideas that could have strenghthened their dominion for a much longer period

CK2 HIP force close after 150 years. Device issue or bug?
>>
not sure but when i tried playing ck2 a year ago it crashed too
>>
How long is a good playthrough until it's time to start a new playthrough of HIP?
>>
for as long as some random guy on the internet says it is
>>
you should only play for as long as you can sit at the pc if you load a save youve lost
>>

surprised this thread is dead with eu5 dropping, posted here briefly like 8 years ago then moved on to v2 mp
>>
/gsg/ has been completely demolished in in /vg/ for the past year or so, we were convinced into living in /vst/
only this week have some of us tried bringing it back here
with that said, all the eu5 posters live in /vst/ and the game has its own general there
>>
not only does it have its own general, it has about four generals active (still receiving posts, not just awaiting removal from page 10) at any given moment
>>
eu5 wonned...
