ONE DAY LEFTSpace Marines are small in number. Only around 1,000,000 across the entire galaxy split into 1000 loyal chapters but all that's gone crazy since the recent events with the Great Rift splitting the Imperium into half but there are literally trillions of guardsmen with a very diverse set of cultures,military traditions and origins unique to each world. Each can be factions in a 40k total war.Before you say it 1,000,000 is minuscule in the 40k universe, you will rarely find more than 1,000 on a single world at any given time split into 10 companies of 100 men as per Guilliman's reforms recently in lore and rarely do they all come together for a single battle. Not only that he's added additional squads for each company of "reserve/auxiliary" meaning new Space Marines with little experience to assist the veteran warriors and replace any killed marines, that means a slightly larger force for each deployment. These reserves will operate the combat vehicles of a company aswell.The space marines can be hero squads of 10 per unit or named hero single units attached to armies with long replenishment times and use auxiliary squads as their support force/bodyguard. Problem solved. It's clearly very possible to add them into a modified new engine 40k total war game. The new engine is clearly designed with 40k(trilogy?) and potential WW1/WW2 in the distant future with each new update. pic related, a typical organisation of one company as per the new updated codex reforms.
