I wonder what differentiates good RPGM games from the really bad ones?Nowadays whenever I see the RPGM assets on the promo images I just go "not this shit again" and move on but I remember having played through multiple RPGM games in the past having a great time. All I can remember that's not the good ones is shit like walls of text in exposition with not even any BGM to set the mood(shit like the Star Wars title crawl for example makes you read because the music sets the epic mood for it making you curious about what's so epic about this) or right at the beginning practically every NPC giving a dozen textboxes of unironically and completely redundant dialogue as it doesn't worldbuild or even entertain at all...I guess aside issues with amateur writing that takes zero lessons from the JRPGs the engine is based on the lack of immersive elements like a good town music is also an issue... music isn't just background noise to be filtered out, it's what sets the entire mood and atmosphere...I'm playing an RPGM game right now and a I'm entertained ATM by the way.

Saw the Star Witch game was translated and played it. Overall, I think it felt short. Scene wise, not really satisfied with what was there. The junior adventurer subplot was nice, but at the same time it's easy to miss parts. Also I don't think there was enough choices to max out the personality traits, that or they're just really hard to find. Best scene for me was the reveal that the mc is a yandere. Overall I think I was disappointed. The MC had a really nice body too so felt like a shame.
