I think a large part of being a successful streamer is having genuinely good and informed knowledge of the game, sounding confident as you explain it, and being able to graciously praise your opponents as great and play up how this is top level play which is why you're failing when you fail to match your level of knowledge with the skill to apply it. I would bet a lot of people in this thread play about as well as Otz but just don't have the charisma and fast talking, fast thinking, no dead air ability to be a streamer. This isn't to praise Otz or put down fellow anons, just an observation on streamer success.

>>550016680In my experience, playing as and against him, good EMP pressure is key. You have to keep on top of your infection and try and have an EMP on you as much as possible. Also, try and pre-drop where you can. If you can keep the EMPs rolling, you have a better shot at staying ahead of him, but if you're in solo queue you're never going to get any consistent co-ordination, so he can snowball very easily.

If I'm the hook (first hook) and the number of gens is twice the number of injured or healthy survivors, I go afk. If I'm on second hook and the number of gens is equal to or greater than the number of injured or healthy survivors, I go afk. If I'm not on a hook and the number of gens is four times the number of healthy or injured survivors, I go afk. I mentally increase the number of gens by 1 if it's a bad map, a killer I don't like, or if my teammates are incompetent (i.e. using no mither, grouping up on gens at the start of the game, failing skill checks, etc). I also don't count streamers as people.

Killer is easier to get into because you don't have any teammates to potentially mess things up but with the way matchmaking works, you will probably easily win your first ~10 killer games against the other total noob survivors it puts you against and then you're in real matchmaking where it will happily put you against 25,000 hour veterans if it means your match pops 2 seconds faster.The game has been mismanaged for a very long time and I can't recommend buying it. The developers sincerely do not deserve your money. That being said, once you've played for 1500 hours or so and you know what you're doing it can be fun sometimes.
