man, there are only so many ways you can code something like an inventory, quest, or interaction system.
do i need to care that my code'll look 70% like some other games for these things? it feels retarded to write something in a subpar or quirky manner just to make it look more original.

What's the best renderer library? Similar to how three.js isn't really an engine but a renderer, what's something like that but not for web? Preferably with plugins already like camera movement.

So I can use it as a renderer without the engine aspect? For example I wanted to program the multiplayer movement and physics all 100% on the backend and only use unreal for the frontend, it wouldn't include extra bloat?

and 1000+ players on screen in mmos all moving at once on 56kbps connections run by a server 1/10th as powerful as your phone. meanwhile modern singleplayer games struggle when 12 npcs are on screen.
>>

How'd they do it?
>>
>>550200627
C and hand optimized assembly.
>>
>>550200549
It's pretty easy when you don't give a shit about players colliding with each other.
You're just interpolating positions and syncing their state.
And you reduce their update rate based on how far they are from the camera.
>>
>>550200169
Never happened. You're hallucinating. In fact, you're probably a zoomer and weren't even alive back then. Quake featured a max of 8 players. CS1.6 had a max of 32, which was really pushing specs and couldn't happen unless you were playing in person at a nicer Asian PC cafe. None of those games were unplayable over dial-up. That's why we used to hold LAN parties. It wasn't until DSL that real-time multiplayer was viable over the internet.

>>550200549
This is DSL era.

>>550200627
MMOs don't use player-to-player collisions.

Nigga, 95% of the United States population didn't have broadband in the "DSL" era

The number of people struggling to play CS 1.6 and Battlefield 1942 on their 233Mhz Pentiums and 300mhz Celerons while on dial up, far outnumbered the people with a Ghz class CPU, Geforce 256, and DSL.

Bitcraft had like 4300 people peak on one server and supposedly could handle tens of thousands. I'm learning the database they made called SpaceTimeDB to use as a backend
>>550200815
That makes sense then. So I want to include physics in my game such as rapier for rigid body, would I give players basic kinematics and non-collision and use rapier for the rigid bodies of objects? The DB I am using is meant to handle this kind of thing.
>>
>>550200971
Public libraries had free DSL connections since at least 2003 or so. I know because I only had dial-up at home until 2006 even when DSL was already popular because my parents knew I would only use it to play video games, and so I was forced to bike to and basically live at the library in order to play Runescape all day.

Idk if you're trolling but you use C over C++ because C++ is dogshit in almost everything it adds on top of C? If you wanna use classes you can make your own object system in C incredibly easily and I could even post one in this thread (if you want). You use C over C++ because you want to stay sane and focus on programming... yes C++ can filter alot of people and maybe that's a good thing. No one should have to put up with its complicated shitty rules. If you want an alternative to C, C++ is not it. Jonathan Blow wasted 10 years of his life because C++ was bad.

yes, running gdsdecomp is the 5 seconds accounted for in the original post.

prospective devs deserve to know in advance that godot games are open source, that's all.
the engine team itself neglects to make this clear in their promotional material, and none of the grifter youtubers making engine vs engine videos (know enough to) mention it either, leading newcomers to contribute to open source without knowing it.

i don't mind, personally. my last 2 small projects are all godot/gdscript (except shader code), as long as the dev knows and is fine with it, it's fine.

take it with a grain of salt from some retard who only has 3 unreleased learning-tier "games" under his belt, but the biggest factor in this decision is imo how good your documentation is.
porting my slop was pure hell, but i've migrated up 3 versions in my newest project where every single line of code has a comment, and there's a separate .txt where i keep track of what does what, how it does that, and why i choose to do it that way.
(i don't recommend coding like this, it's a learning excercise, mostly).

I was aware of AI psychosis and everything before but not until the AI xisters started their shit here this year did I actually become aware how bad it is. I'm sure they would still be shitposters regardless but the way Pedro attempted and failed to make a game with AI in UE kind of proved to me that they aren't shitposting, AI actually sent them on a psychosis spiral where they thought everyone here was a retard for not using it to make games and when he himself tried he got a huge reality check.

It's been quite nice without him here posting "our xesponse" every hour but it's because his psychosis got massively medicated by that reality check of being unable to make a tennis game. Fascinating.

He would just generate Pong in it's entirety with a single prompt. Which would do nothing to prepare him for the tasks involved in making his "real" game.

I am 100% convinced now that we will not see a single vibecoder make a videogame here. It's not possible. What will happen is an actual gamedev will use it as a tool and not a magic genie and will make things as they already are across Steam and elsewhere. But even the ones who seem to be doing well like the fantasy elder scrolls looking game in /v/, I have no reason to believe that dev will actually be able to put together a playable demo (no offense to him).

Lumen looks good at max settings in very specific, controlled lighting scenarios but it doesn't take much effort to break it.
CryEngine uses SVOGI which is nearly a 10 year old solution at this point and it's far more stable, looks about the same visually and runs better.
If I could go back in time and convince Timothy not to drop voxel GI I would.

Do you STEAL money from the government for your game?

Government is offering some money for new small businesses. Not everybody gets the money though.
But you cannot spend the money on anything you want, you can spend it on:
>buying PC hardware, software, licenses
>hiring people, paying them, artists etc.
>renting a place for the business
>marketing, advertisements
>courses
You cannot spend the money as your salary.

I think it's pointless.
Why would I buy PC hardware? I already have it.
Why would I buy PC software when I can steal it or use open source?
Why would I rent a place if I can dev at home?
Why would I go on courses when I am an expert?
Only the marketing makes sense, but you cannot spend 100% of the money they give on marketing, you can only spend about 20% in this way.
What if I hired a homeless bum as artist and he would give me the money back?

I really don't think so. By now he knows agdg is just the same dozen people and he isn't showing his lizard to anyone new. He wants the world to see his lizard game and that's why he posts in /v/ because he thinks it's still 2012 when he was a little kid and /v/ is still like the grand stage of the internet for videogames. So for him to spam his game in /v/ everyday is to him a huge accomplishment and means he's world famous. This delusion helps him cope. In agdg, he can no longer have any delusion of being a big deal here, nor would he even want to be.
>>
>>550214648
>He wants the world to see his lizard game and that's why he posts in /v/

Yeah nah....
The reason the ratings went up is that nobody is organicly buying these agdg games anymore and actually rating them on their merits nowadays and the only reviews these games get is from like for like trades from the 'cord which will obviously be upvotes no matter what the quality of the game is because its a like for like trade.

Jim Sterling did untold damage to indie games when he went on his "asset flip" crusade.
The problem with those games he talked about was never their use of stock models its that they were taking premade game templates and releasing them unmodified. That's what an asset flip really is. A game with unique gameplay that happens to use stock models and animations cannot be an asset flip.
>>
>>550218385
Not only did Jim go off the deep end but everyone else who spent their time asset watching is now an AI schizo it's hilarious. So they make arguments about how games should be allowed to use AI generated slop when they just spent a decade hounding everyone for using anything in their game that wasn't hand made.

I don't get it. This person has wasted 8 hours trying to catch a shiny magikarp.
That number above her head is the number of encounters so far.

How do you even incentivize that kind of thing?
Does your game have to be popular first, and then you can add rare bullshit that players will waste their time on?
Or is there a different incentive structure?

Shiny hunting is the biggest waste of fucking time, especially in older games.

i've been studying this for a while, the meta is to design your media content for virality and include multiple calls to action to purchase/wishlist your game in the video
just posting gameplay footage isn't enough, you need to create some sort of story about your game that interests people, even if you need to exaggerate/make things up about your game, you'll be fine, players won't care
yes, i'm saying do "false" advertising

>>550231364
Right, so I gotta come at em with a fake story essay
Fuck man I genuinely hate this kind of shit
>>
>>550231348
yes, unfortunately, it works very well
people love stories above all else
a bad game with an interesting initial premise will make sales, if people find the context of the situation of the game, they will force themselves to enjoy the game
all you need to do is present an appealing situation/context in the first 5 seconds of your videos to get all compatible viewers to continue watching
attention = success
a balance between absurdity and relatability seems to be the key
>>
>>550230254
What are you implying with this post? That everyone is a retard for not making a survival game and posting on reddit with it? That's so arbitrary you could come up with a million examples of this. Stop huffing your own farts and make a game yourself weirdo.
>>
>>550231275
Shit? Really? So instead of 65k people browsing a genre specific subreddit looking for cool games to buy it's only some fraction of that? Oh well I guess it's back to making tiktoks that nobody will ever watch

Correct. Now we're in the attention golden age. Video games have been solved. The meta has been identified. There is room for growth in the realm of organic viral promotion. Your game will not make you successful. Your content will. Instead of relying on content creators to give you views, you now have the tools to do it yourself. This is huge. People aren't maximizing this yet. Give it a few years.

The promotional content you post on social media will make it successful. Exposing it in a positive light to the correct audiences on short form video platforms through designing such video content for algorithmic engagement via watch percentage maximization and high user interaction will give your game the attention it requires. This is the most optimal promotion strategy. The difficult part is ensuring your content is engaging to viewers without deceiving them. This can be alleviated by designing your game to have inherent potential for promotional appeal. A good example is the trend of successful co-op games. a low effort asset flip game with a few unique quirks can easily be presented in such a manner that causes people to send the video to their friends, saying "let's buy this when it comes out", along with ensuring the concept of the game is interesting enough to convince people to watch the full video to learn more about it. You'll also see low poly "dark fantasy" games going big on Tiktok, although not many have been released yet.
Design a game with appeal. Promote this appeal on social media. Optimize content for high user retention and interaction. Views convert to sales.

You do not have enough experience to understand the value of this.

Do you know what that means? Indie developers who hope to increase the odds of their games being enjoyed by a large audience are not exempt from receiving the market analysis of a successful consultant. Just admit you're not looking for advice and continue working on your game. You don't need to attack somebody for providing valuable advice.

I think the main seethe about "marketing gurus" comes from a developer with a highly specific vision who's working on a unique game, but also hopes for it to be financially successful. They're basically being called retarded and being told to abandon their project to work on something else. This doesn't always need to be true, though. You can keep working on your game, and just keep in consideration strategies you would use for promotion that are likely to increase its appeal.
You don't need to chase trends and make "slop". You just need to learn how to make your present your game in an appealing manner. That's all. Genre and design trends can make games have stronger natural appeal, but niche passion projects can still work. You're just playing the game on hard mode if you do things that way.

Stop antagonizing other developers, Nick. At least they have released games available on Steam, and aren't afraid to post them. You have potential to make great games. You are very talented. You need to eliminate whatever fear and self doubt you have, and get to work. Improve your focus. You have too much potential to waste. It begins with your negative self talk. Destroy that demon.

It can seem like that if you don't listen closely to the multiple times he says to just shelve your dream game. Don't delete it don't uninstall it and kill it just put it aside and make some games or you're liable to pass through this current era with one single game which could flop instead of having made a handful of smaller games with far better odds.

But like you said people don't hear that, what they hear is "drop your stupid dream game Mr. Artiste and make some trendy slop or you're a sucker what are you stupid?" And it's very telling that this is what people hear because innately on a subconscious level, this is what they actually think of their own game. They know that Zukowski is right and that it would be great to make some smaller games right now in hot genres.

>shelve your dream game
This is dangerous. I did this years ago, and my passion is gone. I've grown to enjoy the process of making "slop". Marketing is fun, because it's faster to produce market-available content. It's easy to take a scientific approach, form hypotheses, do A/B testing, and slowly improve the performance of your videos. Of course, you still need to make games, but once you get a taste of making a small, casual, satisfying game with strong core appeal, such as progression systems, narrative, or mechanic traits, the rest of your time can be spent making creative cutscenes and/or short videos for your game. This is where the real fun begins. I don't really want to make my original "dream game" any more.

I asked gpt-oss:20b (120 tokens/s) to summarize this thread so far.

It started as a place for beginner‑dev help ("Should I finish my game?" "How to reuse code?"), but quickly devolved into a typical /vg/ rant‑session war‑zone where the majority of the thread was political harassment and “marketing guru” propaganda, with very little actual constructive game‑dev help surviving in the noise. The overall tone is erratic, often hostile, and the thread ends more as a case study in how a 4chan gaming board devolves than a useful developer forum.

I agree it is dangerous but mostly only if you stop gamedev altogether. I took a multi month long break from my main game once and when I came back it took almost a week to redigest everything, it was actually crazy having to relearn things I was doing effortlessly months before.

There's really nothing like daily gamedev and just knowing your engine inside and out not having to look up how to do everything. You imagine something and you just do it wham bam. This absolutely goes away after a certain length of time. And if you step away from your project for long enough you can forget how to make things happen quickly in the systems you had in place and it's just as rough.

In case I guessed right, and I'm really just talking to Roody:2D, here is unfiltered review that will hopefully settle this debate between us once and for all.

I have around 1k hours in Factorio (3 full playthroughs, most of which was a full SE+K2 run) and 270 hours in Satisfactory (one run pre-1.0 and one run at the 1.0 launch), but I would never buy your game. First and foremost, it's not multiplayer, and I'm not autistic enough to enjoy these kind of games alone. Secondly, Roody:2D doesn't feel like enough of a game aka skinnerbox. If it's too sandbox-y, I'd rather go play an industrial robotics simulator instead, or in reality, I'd rather just spend time working on my own game than play your game, since they tickle roughly the same neurons. Maybe if you can show off the following mechanics in your trailer, you could convince me to play: using the fluid mechanics to damage/kill a big boss monster and/or a Factorio-style zoom out to show a 8k by 8k tile zone all active and working simultaneously. You have to understand that Factorio is an ARPG+RTS where you kill armies of bugs, and Satisfactory is a FPS open world craft survival where you cattle prod giant armadillos.

Basically, your game currently sits too close to an industrial tool and too far from a video game, and I have better industrial tools AND video games that I could otherwise be spending my time with. If you honestly want to fix your game, here are my recommendations in order of priority: multiplayer, localization, action combat with some big bosses (copy Terraria imo), and a graphics rework. And, I know that's a lot to ask, is basically impossible to actually do, and so you're probably never going to add those things, which is why you should really be dropping Roody:2D and making a new, smaller scoped game.

i think the biggest issue indie devs have is they enjoy video games so much that the promotional content they create fails to interest the average gamer
unless you're making a super niche game for a verified passionate audience, you're basically competing with everybody else for the attention of any chunk of the "normiesphere" consciousness you can acquire
but if all you're doing is uploading clips of your game with factual game design information on social media, the average viewer isn't going to watch the video for long enough to trigger the algorithms and get you more views
unless you have a large advertisement budget and can afford to charge $15+ for your game, or you get lucky with influencers, or you spend months/years slowly building up a community of discord supporters, you're basically held captive by the attention spans of zoomer zombies doomscrolling for easy dopamine before they go to bed, or while they're procrastinating something important
it is a difficult task to perform successfully, friendslop is good for this because people send the video to their friends saying "bro let's play this later", but if your game isn't designed to have some sort of short form viral hook, you will struggle
understanding human psychology will help you become more competent at this
>>
>>550248084
a tiny project like that won't get you a job. are you an indian?
>>
summary:
your promotion options are:
- pay big money for conventional advertisements
- have content creators make successful videos for your game
- create your own content that converts to enough sales to gain traction on steam
all difficult, good luck

Yeah, the brutal truth is most indie devs are trying to sell passion projects to an audience that doesn’t care—unless the pitch is instantly funny, weird, or painfully relatable. Loving games doesn’t mean you know how to market them, and dropping feature lists or devlogs into the social media void just makes you background noise. You're fighting for milliseconds of attention from sleep-deprived dopamine junkies who scroll past anything that isn’t a meme, a meltdown, or a multiplayer moment worth texting a friend about. Unless you’ve got cash for ads, luck with influencers, or the willpower to build a cult over several years, your best bet is turning your game into a short-form content machine that hijacks attention and makes people want to hit share. It’s not about design elegance or mechanical innovation anymore—it’s about emotional hooks, speed, and understanding what makes people click. You’re not just a dev now. You’re a performer, psychologist, and content goblin. Welcome to the show.

>>550249797
Oh, absolutely. Please, do not do what I suggested. The last thing we need is another visionary martyr bravely refusing to engage with the modern world while his Steam page gathers digital dust. You're right—marketing is beneath you. Why stoop to connecting with potential players when you can nobly suffer in silence, hand-coding a masterpiece that no one will ever hear about, like some tragic Renaissance painter yelling at TikTok? As for the industry collapsing—yes, thank you for the warning, Nostradamus. I'm sure your refusal to participate in short-form content will single-handedly save us all from late-stage capitalism. And really, really bold of you to try to sprinkle a slur on top like that’s going to add intellectual weight to your argument. Inspiring stuff. Can’t wait to see your manifesto, unread, on itch.io.

>>550249979
>They will if the game itself is actually appealing.
Ah, yes, the classic “if the game was actually good, people would magically find it” argument—brought to you by someone who thinks discovery algorithms are just misunderstood librarians. Here's the reality: tons of great games get ignored because being good isn't enough. It’s never been enough. Not in games, not in music, not in anything. You think the algorithm sits there stroking its chin going, “Ah yes, truly elegant mechanics and thoughtful level design, I shall now bless this with virality”? No, it wants clicks, watch time, and shareability. It wants spectacle, not subtlety.

And the second response? Wow. Just raw, juvenile insecurity dressed up as a rebuttal. You can screech “no one cares” all day, but that won’t make you right—or interesting. Try harder. Or don’t. The scroll will move on without you.
>>
>>550250116
Yes, exactly—because nothing screams “rational, grounded individual” like projecting your own apocalypse onto anyone who points out how marketing works in 2025. If you’re frothing at the mouth because someone said TikTok clips matter more than your lovingly crafted difficulty curve, maybe it’s not the industry that failed you. Maybe it’s the delusion that being good at game development automatically earns you attention, money, or community.

This isn’t seething cope from “people.” This is what it sounds like when someone tells you the harsh rules of a rigged game, and you decide the messenger must be a soulless sellout rather than face the possibility that effort alone doesn’t guarantee success. But sure, call it “cope” while you stew in bitter idealism, arms crossed in your bunker of unreleased builds and imaginary vindication. Meanwhile, the rest of us are out here selling dopamine to short-circuiting masses because that’s what survival looks like now. Enjoy the moral high ground—it’s very quiet up there.

Yes, brilliant strategy—target the generation currently juggling three jobs, two kids, a mortgage, and existential dread. I’m sure they’re spending hours a day combing through indie game trailers on Instagram Reels and Twitter/X, desperately hoping someone drops a Unity passion project in their feed. Totally reachable, totally not exhausted, and definitely not doomscrolling in a haze of burnout.

And of course, let's just ignore Zoomers—the largest, most terminally online, most algorithm-programmed demo in existence—because marketing to the people who actually use TikTok, YouTube Shorts, Discord, and Steam's front page is just... too mainstream? Too obvious? Too effective?

Foolish devs,—for daring to study their audience and platform trends instead of following this bold “market to people who aren’t there” strategy. Truly galaxy brain.
>>
>make game I want to make

After 10 games, provided you are a cool guy with cool art, you will probably be doing ok regardless of what is trending.

Ah yes, the classic “ten games deep and the vibes will carry me” method. Bold. Inspiring. Completely detached from reality. You’re not building a career—you’re performing a ritual in hopes that the discovery gods will smile upon you after enough sacrifices. “Just keep making games” is a great emotional mantra, but it doesn’t magically overcome the fact that Steam’s front page is a procedurally generated landfill and the algorithm doesn’t care about your journey—it cares about engagement metrics, traffic sources, and whether a clip of your game got reposted on TikTok by someone screaming “YO WTF IS THIS.”

Being a “cool guy with cool art” means nothing if no one sees it. This isn’t 2013. Organic discovery on Steam is so dead it's practically fossilized, and pretending otherwise isn’t optimistic—it’s delusional. You can either learn to play the visibility game, or you can keep tossing games into the void while whispering “any day now.” But please, don’t pretend that ignoring modern promo strategy is some noble act of artistic integrity. It’s just cope in an indie dev hoodie.

>being good isn't enough
"Good" is subjective, and your personal standards for "good" simply haven't been tuned to be high enough to match the current standards of the market. It's like how Cris looks at his own art and thinks it's actually good. You're case probably isn't as severe as Cris's, but you have a similar low cognitive resolution problem. Maybe we should use the term "magical" instead of "good" since magic is measurable using virality metrics.

Final message for the thread:

Success is absolutely still possible—don’t let the blackpill fantasy of "everything is rigged so nothing matters" become your excuse to avoid adapting. The tools to succeed do exist, but they look different now. Steam isn't a magic storefront where good games sell themselves anymore. It’s a chaotic mall where the loudest, most shareable, most eye-catching stuff wins the first 10 seconds of attention—and then maybe earns a sale. If you're not leveraging short-form content, influencer pipelines, or building a direct audience through platforms that actually have reach, you're not “focusing on the craft”—you’re building sandcastles in the dark and wondering why no one’s admiring them. You can either embrace reality and learn how to translate your game's appeal into something discoverable… or keep blaming everyone but yourself while your tenth invisible launch limps out of early access. Your call. But don’t confuse bitterness with strategy.

also, for a game like yours, with more complicated/intricate features, although this is more work for you to do, i'd suggest making a discord server and being active in it, people love having a community around a game, the feedback could be super useful, and you'll be guaranteed support on release
i make casual games with nothing to talk about, so i can't really make a server, but your game seems to have enough content to justify discussion

Instead, we'll all stay here in one room and try to yell over each other as we always do. The ideal move is still for us to get our own board somehow. I previously proposed that we all go take over >>>/gd/ together. When they zoomed out to show the entire world is when the game clicked for me.
It's going to be like The Witness where there is a global puzzle that is kind of hidden and flips the game on its head.

That said, I don't think it has any wide appeal. The Witness came out at a time when walking sims were still somewhat popular and kind of rode on that success. This is being released at a time when nobody buys puzzle games. And it certainly won't be able to make $10 million dollars or whatever ridiculous amount of money he said he spent on it.

This is actually correct. At the very least if your game doesn't have controller integration you're fucking up because even on Steam many players prefer it and will even avoid a game if it's mouse+kb only.

I haven't found it since I first saw it but there's a pic of AVGN holding the mouse and keyboard position and the holding a controller with caption "this is work, this is play".

I like the look of the bar across the bottom. It screams early 2000s PC game. The controller support is mainly an afterthought anyway.

>ugggh, shoulder + x is too cumbersome
>can't I just press a shoulder button 12 times to navigate a list?
was the last time you play a controller game in 1998 or something?

hotkey binds like the other anon said, or dpad.
I personally like The Last Of Us's approach where they categorize the items similar to a D-Pad.
But then then they ruin it with "realistic" clunkiness.

It's cumbersome in the sense that it's not intuitive to look at the screen to figure out what button I have to press.
1-9 on a hotkey bar is intuitive because they align with their position on the keyboard.
Hotkey number 3 being LB + Right Face Button requires the player to look at the input icon and figure out what they need to press.

Are you, perhaps, retarded? Just use a cross hotbar if you're so coombrained that you need a visual aid. Most people just memorize the hotkey for the action and don't stare at their hotbars while playing video games.

remember when a certain historical figure told us to judge by the character?

This is interesting I don't think I've played a game with controller that had this many functions onscreen.

The hotbar you just posted is shaped like a d-pad/face buttons because it's intuitive. You're just proving my point.

Trying to think up the design of a performance setting system. Does this seem fine?
The numbers will be tweaked eventually. those are concurrent spawn limits for nodes. there will also be frame limits, I suppose.

Yeah, I feel like Void Stranger with its developement team of two(?) is about as large as I'd go with a PC puzzle game unless you have some major draw in such as licence. I doubt Blow's name alone is enough.

there's basically two ways to do it, half life 2 method with a d-pad, or gta5 method with an analog stick

This game looks familiar, did you post on a demo day long ago? Like 10s of demo days ago? I know the guy with cat girls and water guns posted his game in the past which I believe was also 10s of demo days ago as well. Feels like some anons are coming back from long sgo

I can unironically see this game flopping. I wouldn't buy it myself personally but hetween this and the friendslop game, the friendslop game is clearly the one that will have an easy time.

I don't think I can return to my past projects. They've been shelved but in reality it feels like they're canceled and I just don't want to admit it. How would I even return to my longest in development game when it was literally taking me years to make? It feels like I made too many mistakes with it. I can only see 3 possible routes with this game
>true abandonment
>return with a massive scope down and changes to the gameplay (may as well restart from scratch)
>return many years from now if my knowledge grows in the right ways so I don't have to scope down (art bar raises signficantly)

I.....what? Of all the incremental games I've seen succeed on Steam this one just doesn't look like it has "it" yet it looks like ot woll succeed.....how? Like I've seen it but it just doesn't really have that feel I see others in this genre have How does this even get this much attention?

Those types are likely playing less and less games. It would explain why the kinda games I like are disappearing. Who would make them if it takes 3+ years with a team of 4 people only to end up in the <1000 review category?

Nta but organic discovery has in fact been made more difficult. It used to be so easy to find new games to play
>click Terraria
>scroll down
>get recommended other relevant games, Crea, Edge of Space, Starbound, etc
>check today
>get recommended mostly only popular games, Satisfactory, Pal World, V Rising
