I am weird but i have played over 4 seasons of comp and i use a controller in my left hand and mouse in my right. There are advantages and disadvantages to this. I have a wider range of motion but it is harder for me to do more precise movements with the joystick as opposed to wasd. Aiming with the joystick is just terrible. I don't use the controller to aim just to move forward back strafe and jump. I never could get the hang of wasd. I grew up playing Nintendo and other consoles so wasd was foreign to me however i also grew up using the mouse on the pc so its just the best of both worlds to me. Point being you can map controls with a 360 controller to whatever you want in tf2.
