In the early game the chicken alone will probably give you enough to replace your smoke nades or whatever you actually use, especially since you're probably just gonna extract with whatever you find anyway (compared to later when you'll start ignoring basic materials and ammo). So maybe one stack of each just for the occasional repair etc. You'll know when you start needing it, and at that point you can run through your reserves pretty quick in any case and replenish them just as quickly.

I don't really see how me doing quests like prickly pears, mushrooms or even "kill an arc with a snap grenade" helps make games interesting.For the gather ones it leads to me interacting with nobody, extracting (and not caring if I die since they're safe pocketed) and repeating.And for the combat ones I do them within like 2 minutes and then extract because I want the reward. I've been doing the Blue gate naked/low investment blueprint run and I have to say it is so effective that it legitimately pisses me off. I was able to get 3 MK3 augments my first 3 runs and that is not fucking good. They need to seriously tweak the values on what can drop a blueprint. I feel like augments or high/mid tier blueprints should be almost exclusive to stronger arc.
