The director replaced the writer, and my personal belief is that he replaced the gameplay designers as well. The new units are not good. The launch units are the best in the game by a large margin. The new units feel less complete than the launch units. One of the new units has a -20% modifier on one of her attacks, and one of her dupes removes this -20% on her attack. It's just completely lazy bullshit design, and all of the new stuff is like this. It really feels like 2 completely different groups of people made the base game vs the stuff they have added since launch. However, we were also told there would be no limited units and we got a limited unit with a limited partner. I cannot personally vouch for it, but someone said they also said there wouldn't be nerfs. Whether or not there are nerfs imo isn't the issue, the issue is that they have had to nerf launch characters less than 1 month into the game's lifespan, and that all the new units they are releasing are not as good as the launch units. That's the bad part to me. You just cannot trust a god damn thing these gooks say, nor can you trust their competency. They DO NOT play this game. I'm not even sure they have real playtesters. They might have some QA people who press some buttons in a game environment, but they don't have any card game players who play this game, at all.

You need to farm artifacts, hope you RNG the correct mainstat, hope you RNG the correct substats, and then hope that your artifact levelups RNG pick the correct substats that you want to level up, because only one stat gets increased per level up, and there are only 5 level ups. You can get all the level ups on one stat, and that stat can be the one garbage substat on your "perfect" artifact. And that's outside of the deckbuilding RNG which is the core gameplay loop. And that's not mentioning the fact that even after you farm for 50 hours to get the perfect deck RNG... you cannot use that deck during the next season, which lasts for 9 weeks. You have to farm your deck all over again. For every single character.

I have never played a Mihoyo game but I have read quite a few gacha stories and I trust no one who says they are good. The only one I have ever liked the main story of was GFL1, though most of them have moments in side stories. I remember a lot of people raved about Arknights but I read that for years and it was garbage. I honestly don't know if a game has been halfway decent enough to claim an honourable second place, maybe Neural Cloud but that's cheating since the whole game is a side story.
As a former player of Genshin and a somewhat current player of HSR, the stories of both games have at times literally brought be to tears and at other times made me feel incredibly bored and like I’m wasting my life.

Some KR games have very good and generous gacha systems as well. There are some CN gachas that are very generous and have good gacha systems too. Unfortunately, everything is becoming more homogeneous and most gachas are just aping Gayshit's gacha, so it's becoming fewer and farther between that a gacha comes out that has either a good gacha system or is at least generous.
